why fight like the world fights?

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

Why do we fight Satan with the things of this world. We claim that we will defeat him with logic, or with money, or by feeding the hungry, or by coming up with the cure for cancer. what of this will actually lead people to Jesus Christ? What can they gain through a bodily healing if we do not heal the spirit too?

God is weird. not to those who know him, but to those who don't. To the people who don't trust in Jesus for Life, we should look weird. lacking the anger of the world, the worlds worry, the worlds needs are not ours.

So what should we look like? lets take  just a few verses to see what God wants of us:

strong:

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7

courageous:

I can do all Things through Christ Who gives me strength Phil 4:13

Joyful:

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Phil 4:4          This one is interesting, and it is a command, that we often forget, but that makes life so much more worthwhile!

and of course, embodying the Fruits of the spiritBut if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,[d] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. - Gal. 5:18-24

I pray that we find ourselves, looking and/or striving to embody these as they help us lead people to the Power of the Cross

Man up

There has been so much talk about the change in girls status over the past 40 years. A popular poster going around the Internet ATM. asks a question and gives a simple answer.

who runs the world? girls

I am asking you, why? why do you think it has come to be that girls are running the world? why is it that they are becoming the leaders of organizations and of the government. of the Church, and of the world?

Because the Men have left a hole, and they have filled it. Men now have, and continue to, leave leadership positions open, and leave family leaderships open. they continue to leave their families. they continue to force Women into a position they were not made for.

all the way back in Genesis ch3 verse 16 God cursed eve, and with that all Women, saying "...your desire shall be for [footnoted against] your husband, and he shall rule over you"

So we could blame their rise on God's curse, giving them the desire to rule over us [as men], but what would that solve. That would simply pass off the responsibility we were clearly given to "keep the Earth" [Genesis 2:18], or, to take care of the earth and everything in it.

I believe it is time for us as men to step up to the challenge. It is time for us to give honor where honor is due [ all authority, parents, all women, peers, elders ect.], Time to learn the meaning of work [which I will quickly admit I do not know] time to man up and take care of the Job that was set before us.

And this can only happen with the help of Jesus, changing our lives from the inside out. The true example of a Man, who when the time was right , He moved, He loved, He rose to the challenge and forgave us while we were still sinners, and we are all sinners. I pray that God can move in this generation of men to step back up to where we belong, and stop pulling the world down to where we want to be.

Convict the world of Righteousness

John 16:8: "and when He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment" -ESV ( emphasis added) In this verse, Jesus is once again telling the disciples about the Holy Spirit. He is talking about this entity, this person, as the Bible always refers to him as "he". Jesus is soon going to be hung on a cross and resurrected, which is the greatest miracle performed by Jesus himself, taking away our sin and faults, taking the penalty upon himself, and then conquering Death itself.

but this verse shows the power of the Holy Spirit, and three of the reasons that it is better for us that Jesus goes up to be with the Father, so that the Helper comes down to us. The Helper/ Comforter/ Holy Spirit will convict the world of righteousness. This is a great conviction that We are in "Right standing" with  God. It is the unsurmountable knowledge that, though we sin, God has forgiveness available for the taking.

I believe it is a sad thing that the majority of Christians do not know what this feels like. The majority of people I talk to tend to have no clue as to what it feels like to be assured of their salvation. They have not had the conviction for righteousness, as strong as we have had the conviction that we have sinned against a Holy and Perfect God, The all powerful God.

I pray that everyone may seek out this righteousness, and feel as the Corinthians did when Paul called them Saints in 1 cor 1:2. through our sin, God has saved us, forgiven us, and will take us back when we allow him to. I thank God that Jesus left the earth, as I also thank God that He was on earth. The Holy Spirit has immense power that very few people realize. The Holy Spirit is the one that works in the world, at the direction of Jesus (John 16:14-15). Let us find ourselves convicted of Righteousness through out trust and following of Jesus Christ, and His direction of the Holy Spirit.
