@matthewofshadows
He heard a voice and looked in the direction it was coming from. Even if he wasn’t fully demon, he could still pick up on stuff. “Uhm… nothing. I said nothing at all.”
“Oh? Maybe I’m going crazy.” Matthew rolled his eyes and sniggered, the blonde picked at a loose thread on his sweater and resisted the urge to further antagonize the man.
“What, is it college? Is that your issue? You look the type. Not that that’s a bad thing.”
prince-mordecai:
“You know what I realized while I was gone. My life is way too complicated. I would be better off dead.”
_______________ “That can still be arranged”
“...Kidding. What makes you say that?”
Being posted in Coldgrove had turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Matthew Clarion; the town milled with the unsuspecting and deliciously oblivious, making it all the more fun for the demon to toy with the town’s occupants. Matthew was different from most of his kind, having been cursed with greed the blonde found his unquenchable thirst would drive him into desperation every so often. Matthew at this point was seeking bigger game; and to his luck he didn’t have to venture far to find it. The Bullock’s gun shop was a mere walk from his house.
The demon was generally clever enough to avoid hunters completely; being good at covering tracks and trying to present himself threateningly to any possible predators. One family, back in the 1900s, had created a second world of hell for Matthew. It was the only period in his life where he’d had to “disappear” completely. The boy’s abilities had been no match for their sheer numbers. However, he always had a special spot in his heart for the Bullock’s and rumour has it that the line’s running short.
Matthew hadn’t disappeared without collecting a souvenir to remember them by and remind him of his unfinished business; the M10 he’d obtained in an encounter where old Bullock hadn’t been so lucky. With a smirk playing on his lips and the gun wrapped up in cloth, the demon pushed the door open, causing the bell to ring. Stepping up to the counter, Matthew placed it gently and spoke in the most nonchalant tone he could muster, whilst pulling the cloth back to reveal a surname engraved on a metal plate. “Mind identifying this baby for me?”
kourt-carillo:
“Try harder.” she teased smiling over him.
“I’m a student there so I’m not surprised if you have.” Actually she was surprised, normally she went undetected around the campus. “You look pretty familiar to me as well, what’s your name?”
________________
“Matthew; Matthew Clarion. You look the type to have a Bible name, too. Rest assured, I’d be pre-apostle Matthew.”
camden-lum:
“Depends. I doubt the sex is ever worth the time, if that’s what you mean.”
_____________
“I’m yet to experience sex not being worth the time; though that’s probably because I get to pick the partner and I've always called the shots on how it’ll play out. Christ, I don’t like the idea any more. Work in general is just horse-shit.”
“ —–Am I making you uncomfortable?”
Impulses are too often fuelled by hatred and anger. That’s why there is evil in this world, there is not enough patience or understanding. There is too much ignorance and egotism to allow for a moment of cool in the heat of a climax.

A mess of blonde curls fell over Matthew’s dark, bored gaze as he flipped through his biology textbook. He’d been alive a most unnatural amount of time and yet there was still so much left to learn and even when he did, it wasn’t long before information became outdated; and that happened more often than you might think. Education managed to be as interesting as it was tedious, somehow. Matthew’s look of distaste turned to humour as he started to wonder what the point was for mortals, and at that point the demon slammed his book shut and reached for his laptop. “Why waste your time doing this shit? I mean —–you’re gonna’ die pretty soon, anyway.”
The blonde crossed his legs and pressed his back against the headboard of his bed, making himself more comfortable as he eyed his study partner, waiting nonchalantly for a response. Matthew recognized he hadn’t said “we” and that he hadn’t defended his “hypocrisy”, but he didn’t care to correct himself.
camden-lum:
“Hey – they don’t make bad money.”
“But I’d much rather be a stripper. Safer, cleaner and still more fun than your average desk job.”
______________
“You make a good point. Though with prostitution I’d get more than just the cash out of it.”
kourt-carillo: “If you don’t like coffee, wh-why are you here? I know they have cookies and stuff, but let’s be honest they taste like coffee too.”
“I’m trying really hard to stay awake,
—– I was up late studying for a test. I swear I’ve seen you around Jarvis, too.”
camden-lum: “Sure do. Work in the kitchen. What could you stand then?”
_____________________________
“I don’t know, prostitution maybe.”
“ —– I’m kidding...mostly. For now I’ll stick with having fun.”
