I just saw Spider-Man: No Way Home in the cinemas. During the end credits, there’s a trailer for Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In it, I believe that the back of Captain Carter (from What if..?) can be seen for a brief moment.

Idag Monica, skulle du fyllt 65. Firar med favoriten lasagne.

Ett intresse som mor delade med mig var uppskattningen av den alldeles lysande serien ’Morden i Midsummer’.

Efter att ha sett om dem, på tok för många gånger brukade vi tävla om att minnas intriger, vem som är mördare och varför.

Själv kan jag minnas hur jag brukade vandra förbi tv:n, antingen om de visades eller spelades från dvd-spelare och utbrista ”jag vet vem som är mördaren”.

Just film nummer 65 i ordningen är för mig en av de få jag inte kan minnas detaljer kring.

Got sick a couple of days ago.

Feels like a typical cold, sore and swollen throat. Mucus... I’m a bit weak, like from a fever.

It’s been a longer while since I’ve been very sick. So I’ve ordered and took a COVID-19 swab test today, just in case and to be sure.

Today marks a year since my mom drew her last breathe. A lot have changed; work, life, the world at large.

Drawn over us, like a smelly wet blanket, is of course the pandemic, COVID-19 and all it’s drawbacks it brings. Apart from a high death toll being the biggest, of course the social isolation.

Corona-times for me marks the first time that I’m living on my own. It’s also longest time I’ve been alone, since up until my mom’s passing I lived under her guarding roof.

In combination with the virus, I’ve never felt so alone and isolated before.

Back to mom. 

As a remembrance thing, when I visited her gravestone, I brought with me her all time favorite candy, “Gott & Blandat” (making sure to remove the pieces she did not particularly enjoy) and a bottle of Sprite.

Today were burying mom’s urn.

Today my mom would have turned 64 years of age.

How would she have spent the celebrations? Probably by serving vegetarian lasagna.

Today I inked a tattoo of a butterfly (a motif she also had) in memory of my her.

Eightyfifth Post

On Monday, January the 27th, my mother passed away. She passed peacefully around 11:00 AM without complications. As she slipped away, I held her hand.

I wanted to share a little about her last years in struggle.

Since autumn 2018 it was confirmed that she had lung cancer, which in time developed into metastasis in the brain. During her treatment over a period of about two years the cancer had halted and gotten smaller. However the metastasises grew bigger.

Late in 2018 she had gotten quite thin because of the chemotherapy. At times, before and after my work hours, I helped out by feeding her through a tube. This was because she had trouble eating.

The year turned to 2019 and the lung cancer reduced, she ate solid foods again. But she developed aggressive metastasises. She was quite agile and alert during most of the year, but for longer traveling she needed to make use of a wheelchair.

However, the condition, combined with the medication to tackle the metastasis, started affecting her memory in november, she didn’t have a grasp of time and could not fully support herself. This resulted in the last weeks of her life that she did not eat, drink or sleep properly. She was therefore taken into medical care a second time, on January the 17th.

When in care, she slipped in and out of consciousness.

During all my 30 years alive, she has always been there to support me. Emotionally, economically and giving me lifts, driving me almost everywhere I needed to be.

Me and mom were pretty similar. Both a bit stubborn, sticking to our principals and going a bit out of our way to help out, the best way we see fit.

She worked most of her life in the elder care and would have turned 64 years old on June the 7th this year.

The following rant, surrounding a new logo and new vignette music for SF Bio, will be told in Swedish.

Biolabbet: Skapa biohistoria

I höst blir SF Bio Filmstaden och i samband med namnbytet ska vi ta fram en ny ljudvinjett. Men hur ska vi låta? Nu behöver vi dig för a

I slutet på 2017 meddelade SF Bio att man kommer byta namn till Filmstaden. Anledningen till namnbytet är enkel, man äger inte längre namnet SF Bio(1). Man visade då upp en ny logga (och logotyp) som faller rätt i dagens design (platt), men tappar allt vad anrik historia och "magisk bioupplevelse" som den klassiska innehåller(2).

Nu ska man även byta vinjettmusik som spelats tillsammans med SF Bio-loggan. Man skriver:

"Några kriterier som varit extra viktiga är att vinjetten ska fungera ihop med alla slags filmgenrer. Men också bidra till den magiska förväntan som uppstår i salongen när filmen börjar."

Vad tycker jag om bidragen?

Uppfyller de kriterierna man ansett varit viktiga? Passar de med den nya logotypen?

Bidrag 1 passar bäst till loggan. Den börjar med en mörk baston som går över i tunna stråkar och sedan till en smal arpeggio-synth. Platt precis som loggan.

Bidrag 2 det tråkiga bidraget, som mest tar tid. Här händer ingenting. Ljuden står mest stilla och tuggar.

Bidrag 3 är det som bidrar bäst ljudmässigt. Pianot med stråkar låter som att det är på väg framåt. Klassiskt, som de själva beskriver det.

Sammanfattar:

Jag tycker inte att något av bidragen uppfyller kriteriet att passa till alla slags filmgenrer. De låter som generiska stycken man kan nyttja i program för klippning.

Jag tycker inte heller att de är unika och är inte tillräckligt fylliga som tidigare vinjett (beroende på version) har varit.

Här tycker jag att man istället kan satsa på en slinga som man har modifierat något för olika genrer.
