@fckkailee
t has been a long three years for kailee. before she even went to see quinn, she knew she had to breakup with luke but as soon as she left quinn's office, that was the first thing she did. he took it pretty hard but she knew it would be the best for both of them. she had never loved him like he deserved.
she dealt with losing quinn and luke, a heartbroken luke, calling her everyday for the first month they were broken up. she had to go through her own emotions about losing quinn and skye all over again, not knowing if she'd ever see them again. she went through stages of reflection and trying to forget they existed just to dull the pain.
kailee threw herself into work to distract herself, she worked her way up in the company and even made some new friends in the city. her friends were getting tired of seeing her stay home alone on a friday night and binge watch her favourite show so they practically forced her to sign up for a night of speed dating. while she still wasn't really looking for a relationship, she thought it could be fun so she agreed to go anyway.
she walked into the small bar and saw a crowd of people who had already arrived. she considered leaving because it felt too weird to be here, trying to find a date, even after all of this time being single. she turned toward the door when her eyes landed on a face she never thought she would see again. her breath caught in her throat and she knew she couldn't leave now.
"quinn, what are you doing here?" stupid question but she didn't know what to say. she couldn't believe he was here.

quinn shuffled in place, for moment, wondering if he still had time to make a run for it before she noticed him. He regretted having said her name in the first place, but his feet refused to listen to the command he was giving them and he knew he lost his chance when he heard her call out his name.
his heart skipped, and felt a sense of comfort he had tried so hard to forget for so long. he missed the sound of her voice, how peaceful he felt at hearing it- quinn cut his thoughts off, not allowing himself to feel something he had fought so hard to be free from. he couldn't let himself fall back into the place he was just years before." i shouldn't have come." he thought to himself.
"Hi I -" he cut himself off to clear his throat. "skye signed me up for this, i thought i'd make a quick appearance for her sake..." he slowly started to walk closer but made sure to leave a significant distance between them, feeling like any real closeness would be dangerous. his eyes quickly scanned for the ring he last remembered being on her finger but wasn't able to find what he what he was looking for. not that he should be looking at all. "what about you, are you here for....?" he gestured vaguely towards the bar she was obviously walking into.
