Dear Me,
Hey. Take a second to just breathe. Step away from the prescriptions, the busy pharmacy counters, and the daily grind for a minute, and just check in. How are you, really?
You’re doing so much better than you give yourself credit for.
Seriously, look at where you are right now. Moving to a whole different country last year was a massive, terrifying leap, but you did it. You adjusted to a completely new pace, learned the ropes of a demanding workplace, and built a routine from scratch. There are days when the homesickness hits heavy or when everything just feels totally overwhelming, but you're still here, holding it down. That takes a lot of grit.
Please be a little gentler with yourself. You carry a lot on your shoulders—whether it’s pushing through a long shift or trying to navigate draining, complicated social dynamics that honestly don't deserve your energy. It’s okay to draw the line. It's okay to protect your peace and just say, "I’m matching energies today." You don’t have to fix everything, and you don’t owe anyone your peace of mind.
Don't lose track of the things that actually make you happy, either. Keep writing those messy drafts about the art of starting over. Keep daydreaming about Seoul. Find joy in the random good tracks the Spotify DJ throws at you, the comfort of a good K-drama binge, and those quiet spaces where you can just exist.
And hey, look at the calendar. In just a couple of weeks, you’re boarding that flight back to Cebu. You’re finally going home to the people and places that feel like a warm hug. You’ve worked so hard for this break, so when you get there, just completely unplug and soak it all in.
You already know how to start over, how to adapt, and how to survive. Trust your own timing. You're doing just fine.
Love,
Me
