I can't attest to whether or not anyone's been called 'zippertits', but I personally think that's kind of a hilarious insult. Like who would be so offended by that in the first place🤦♂️ I'm. getting hung up on minutiae. Anywayyyy hi, trans man here and I'm adding on to say that I unfortunately gotta agree with you. I obviously don't think ALL transmascs are like this, because they aren't, but I've had to deal with the shock and.. hurt? sort of? and anger of finding out that the primary (and only afaik) organized transmasc community in my city is like.. absolutely dogshit with this terminally online.. shit. They're terfy and petty, with a penchant for dogpiling people and trying to get them removed from queer spaces. Ive had to see with my own eyeballs how they use fun methods like misgendering, bad faith interpretations at EVERY turn, and straight up fucking. just lying about shit??? to get their desired results. And the whole reason I've seen all this is bc their most recent target is my on-and-off partner/very good friend. Coincidentally, they just so happen to be a fairly large, masc looking enby who 🙄 has a penis. They're getting dead named (these guys literally had to like.. creep on their online socials bc they legally changed it several years ago), he/him'd, even called a chaser bc they're very sexually active and um. they like to have sex with men??? And that includes trans men??????? And apparently even getting NEAR a transmasc (even though they're consenting adults who know DAMN well this person has a dick, this is grindr we're talking about here and their profile is VERY honest) with sexual intent is
"""""""predatory""""""""""""""
...there aren't enough quotations on planet earth to hold that word with as much disdain as I have for it right now
Its not as explosively harmful as the above shit, but the 'femmes and thems' (stupid title for a meeting) in this city have also been awful to my friend bc they're not Femme enough, apparently, and that makes ppl uncomfy:( which is such a sugar coated, childish way to say you're just being fucking bigoted
Anyway I'd always hoped this batshit version of the queer community was just a.. far away, 0.0001% of the demographic blown out of proportion.. non issue. But thanks to my friend, I've obviously been proven wrong. And like.. it's just crazy bc I was in that group (the transmasc one) for a bit! They seemed like nice enough folks! I saw a few tiny red flags here and there, like overly sensitive language and that um. I can't describe it. Shit like: 'I just feel like Sparrow isn't pulling their weight and I don't want to hurt their feelings but it's making me so very anxious🥺' kinda.. it's somewhere between hippy and addiction recovery meeting like i can almost taste that styrofoam cup of watery coffee.. am getting off track jfc. Point is, I was VERY much blindsided by it, and now I'm sad and angry and kinda want to pack up and move. Like what's the point of being here if my community makes me see red. I'd argue with them if I thought it would do any good, online experience has taught me that's not the way to do it though. So what, I just have to ignore it and stay away? Like whoops that region is too infected with terf, let's just amputate:/
Luckily my friend is a very tough, resilient person. They have a support network way bigger than my own, plus they're not even in this city very much anymore. They're hurt by this ofc but they'll be okay.
I don't have a definite answer to why it's happening tbfh. I think queer folks and trans folks especially have been through a lot of hurt, and that makes it easier for terfy assholes to take the helm and promote insular behavior. I don't even think everyone in this group is even aware of the nasty shit being pelted at my friend (I looked thru their group discord and there's Nada about it) like it could very well be just a small handful of them doing it. I'm just sick of online spaces in general, we're all cooped up in our tiny apartments being shitty to each other when we should be out and about, improving our social skills and touching grass. Am just very, very tired. And I figured I'd be the one (I actually didn't check the comments/tags to see how ppl have reacted) trans guy agreeing with you that it's an issue:/
