Ahhh that was so amazing!!! I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed by it but it honestly went beyond my expectations.
Here’s some actor breakdowns and thoughts:)
Patrick Page as Hades:
Just incredible. He was so menacing in the beginning but towards the end you got to see such a vulnerable side to this character. He was the one to get me to cry during epic iii so congrats to him. Because of his injury, some of the camera cuts made it seem like he would teleport places which is funny but also really adds to his intimidation factor and other worldliness. 
Amber Gray as Persephone:
Honestly what can I say about this woman. She was the absolute standout of this Proshot. All of her expressions and quips killed me. She remains my absolute favorite person to be in this role. She has so much despair and hope and all of her mannerisms are just perfect. Her lady of the underground was chefs kiss and her how long was so desperate you could feel all of her pain and longing. 
André De Shields as Hermes:
An absolute Diva!!! I loved how long he would let certain moments linger. The beginning of Road to Hell reprise was a real gut punch. Holds the audience in the palm of his hands. The beginning was so cute when he was teasing the audience before road to hell. My favorite thing ever is during why we build the wall where everyone is singing and he’s facing away like not me lmao.
Reeve Carney as Orpheus:
I sadly never got to see him or any of the original broadway cast live, but I fear I am one of the few people that really enjoy his voice on the cast recording and especially here. Do I think sometimes he’s doing too much… yes, but overall he has such an emotional tone and really puts his heart into each song here. I’ve seen him in bootlegs before and I think this truly was Reeve’s Orpheus at his best. His if it’s true and epic iii were especially exceptional. I hope this proshot gets people to stop hating on him 😭🙏
Eva Noblezada as Eurydice:
She was doing the absolute most in this production. She was both so cutesy and insanely DEVASTATING!!! All of her acting choices were just so perfect. Her Eurydice just has this innocence about her that makes you want to wrap her in a blanket. Her Flowers was so soul crushing and she was crying through most of the song. She’s so defeated, angry, and scared. Her tone is always so clear and she absolutely commands the stage with every scene she was in.
The Workers and Fates:
Just great. The fates are so fierce! They acted extra menacing in chips and wait for me. The workers were also amazing. At the end of Epic iii, there was a cute moment where two of the workers got to really see each other for the first time as they remove their caps and they smile and hug. It was so sweet and reminded me of the theory that the workers are past iterations of Orpheus and Eurydice. 
Extras:

- Orpheus getting his ass beat in 4K
- the cinematography in wait for me and doubt comes in especially, holyyyy shit.
- the audience interactions!!! Ie the Hadestown gasp.
- the entire gasp scene in general omg we were all crying.

Taking a break from the Hadestown Art to draw these two BECAUSE WHAT THE FUUUUCK….I watched The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry for the first time a couple weeks ago. Lives were changed.
So OF COURSE I had to draw Noah and Jack as the Balladeer/David Fry….they’re both unreal THEIR VOICES. THEIR ACTING. Don’t get me started because I won’t stop.💔
