Sam knows the way, so even if I’m not home you guys are welcome to help yourself. You should definitely come back in the fall – it’s a lot less crowded, and the locals come out of the woodwork a little bit more when they don’t have the tourists to contend with.
I foresee a lot of drinks in coconuts with little umbrellas in your immediate future, 😊
It actually wouldn’t have surprised me all that much, knowing my parents. My dad was always a lot more formal than my mom, she’s the one who had all sorts of silly nicknames for me as a kid. Joey gets the kangaroo comparison, that’s way cooler than my Honey Bee, 🤦🏻♂️
[Private:] Maybe just by virtue of Sam being physically there all the time, but you’re still his mom. And making that much effort to talk to him nearly every day is pretty admirable, I’m sure he sees that. Kids are smart cookies, Joey – Isaac – in particular.
The locals must be ready for the busy season to end. In New York the busy tourist season is 24/7/365. It never stops. I’ll make sure to mention your beach to Sam and see if we can get an afternoon in before I leave this weekend. Thank you, again, for offering it to us. That’s a sweet gesture.
And in my immediate past. I had another one yesterday. It’s far too addicting but I am pacing myself believe it or not.
I’ll admit, I didn’t expect Honey Bee but now it’s hard not to picture it. Did they dress you like a little bumblebee when you were a baby? We dressed Isaac in different costumes but never a kangaroo one.
[Private:] Isaac Joey Evans. I sometimes laugh at how that looks written out. IS Evans. It looks silly to me because it’s practically a sentence that’s stating a fact. He is an Evans. I don’t think talking to your child everyday should be seen as admirable but I know how people are and it’s a sad statement on parenting.
