This is a website describing wages of fast food workers in New York. It describes how workers can't depend on only $7.25 an hour and be able to afford basic needs such as transportation, food and shelter etc.

Does the increase in pay force companies to raise food prices?
On Houstonpress.com it says that many see a pay raise from 7.25 to 10.10 as a positive step for reducing income inequality the restraunts may have to raise food prices to respond with the higher labor costs.

We are all victim to the convenience of fast food. Much of what we consume from these places are high in fat and sugars which become addictive and when we become accustom to the style of eating this way, it becomes more of what we want. Many children are growing up into this way of life and developing health problems at an early age such as high blood pressure, or diabetes. An easy way to avoid eating things that aren't anywhere near good for you, you can instead buy groceries and have them ready the next morning to throw in a lunch box with an ice pack and head out the door. Convenience in your own home is just as satisfying as when you have to go up those 3 flights of stairs at 7:00 in the morning, remember, those stairs are much easier to climb when you don't have a Egg McMuffin on your stomach. This is an interview done by BCCCollective and they are asking about another book from Schlosser that has the same concept as Chew on This. He explains companies are critical of his point on the industries and that these companies send notices to places that the author will speak at and tells the advisors that he is a unfit person to be speaking. Imagine that one day someone in your organization walks in with a copy of your chief competitor's
bid on a big contract. He swears he got it legally, but you aren't sure. And whether he did or didn't,
it's still proprietary information. Are you going to use it in developing your bid?

Researchers are examining the ethical aspects of food production and consumption. They are helping consumers navigate the maze of moral choices involved in filling their plates and bellies. And they are finding that being morally mindful can lead to better nutrition, as well.

America is in the throes of a health food revolution if articles on kale and quinoa are any indication, but that doesn't mean fast food has loosened its grip on the American appetite. A recent Gallup poll reveals that eight out of 10 Americans eat at fast-food restaurants at least once a month.
