any mcyt-related creators and charaters. for creators they must have under 250k subscribers (idk if thats too high but thats the bar for now), for characters, the creators they are most tied to must be under 250k (for example, submitting xonorth wouldnt be accepted since scott has over 1M subs), they can come from any country, any language and any medium (this means animation, music, analysis, speedrun, multigaming, minecraft used as a medium, etc... would also be accepted)
will there be multiple brackets or just one?
ill do multiple brackets, but i wont allow cc/ch who participated in the previous brackets to be nominated again. only exception would be submitting a specific version of a cc (from a specific smp)
i wonder how the hermitcraft/life series fanart statistics looks like. imagine the graph/map with ALL of the hc fanarts that are divided into lore events/arcs and the ls divided into seasons. how do all these parts differ in size in comparison with each other, which is the largest, which is the smallest.
for example, what is the size of the section with all mycelium vs hep arc fanarts in comparison with last life fanarts section, etc. that’s would be cool to look at I think.

The form will be up for a week to collect all the submissions. Then it will be a few days to sort through them and to create a proper bracket. Happy submitting!
Currently Hermitcraft is winning with most submissions per SMP, with team ZIT far in the lead for most submissions (not based on me counting them, just based on me looking over all the responses).
We are sitting at 216 submissions so far and still 6 days left of this survey up!! Even if you think someone else already submitted for the trio you are thinking of, submit them!! We still don't have every 3 person variant of SBI, to name an example.
Keep submitting, (unless you submit for team ZIT oh my god im convinced that those guys make up like. 1/5 of the submissions alone), share this with your friends, and have fun!!!

If it’s not vods being lost to time or never saved in the first place, it’s blogs deactivating and having no archive of their work, or it’s authors deleting their fics, or any other number of things. Save anything you like to the way back machine or reblog it and archive it. Save the works you like. Save the vods you like if you can.
oh and this is another huge reason to reblog fanworks.
on twitter tweets can just be completely deleted and youll never be able to share it again, but here on tumblr you can find works from creators long deactivated. reblog fanworks, including writing and webweaves. and writers posting to ao3, please orphan your works instead of deleting them.
ive had to scour through so many people's archives just to find art from blogs like yuker or a-matty. luckily we've compiled a bunch of them, but without SOMEONE reblogging those works in the past they would have been completely gone.
every bit of fan-created content is important and deserves to be preserved, even if you yourself don't think your work is worthy of it.
hope you don't mind me adding (a rather lengthy addition) to this post met, but if you're looking to do some archiving and don't know where to start or the tools to use, here are some resources gathered by some friends and i over the past 1-2 years:

dhitma - website about data hoarding, lots of helpful info and resources here!

archivebox - a selfhosted archive that preserves snapshots of websites in various formats
the wayback machine and archive.is - create archives of webpages
tumblthree - a tool you can use to download photos, videos and textposts from a tumblr blog or twitter account. it also lets you download based on certain criteria (only download tagged posts, only download retweeted content, etc)
bulkrenameutiliy - not exclusive to archiving but moreso helpful for organization. lets you rename multiple files at once
saucenao - a reverse image search engine especially helpful for art
downthemall - allows you to download all images from a webpage
shucks.top - if you're planning to buy harddrives for your archives, this is an external harddrive price tracker.
clipsgamelab - useful for people trying to put vods back together via clips. organised clips on any channel by date so that you can see which stream its from
this tumblr post on searching and archiving, includes more effective searching strategies as well as tools you can use to save and find webpages
tubearchivist - selfhosted youtube. i'd recommend going through the page, it explains it a lot better than i can in a tumblr post
yt-dlp and stacher - youtube video downloader. as of posting this yt-dlp isnt working properly due to some url changes youtube had made yesterday, but it looks like there is already a patch out and there will be a new release soon. stacher is a part of yt-dlp, just a different interface and has some things you can do with custom commands. both will start working again probably within the week. (they also have the option to download subtitles!)
in terms of twitch, i would've recommended twitch leecher but it was unfirtunately discontinued a few months ago and no longer works. you can try twitchrecover or twitchdownloader, but i can't tell you how well either of them will work. (edit: twitchlink was recommended to me!!! try this out!)
filehosting and sharing
the internet archive is a wonderful place to store your archive (for free!), and probably the best one i could recommend. there is no limit on how many or what size files you upload and your files are stored permanently.
dropbox, onedrive and google drive are commonly used as well. if you have money, gofile is a good option as well (it is unlimited for free users, but files will not be permanently stored unless your account is premium.) there is also catbox.moe and mega.nz, though all of these are in some way limited.
neocities is a free/cheap place to make a website to link your archives onto. there are plenty of resources to learn html and css, as well as some pre-existing templates, and tumblr page (NOT BLOG THEMES.) themes work as well.

mcc vod archive, origins smp vod archive, dream smp vod archive (this one has a discord server linked if you'd like to help out), smpearth vods archive.
these are just some vod archives, but you absolutely do not have to stick to just vods. save whatever mcyt related content you want.

hey y'all. we've been quiet a bit. that being said, we have one last thing before we get this event behind us.
this was a really special thing to be a part of. what started as a silly joke we didn't think would get very far ended up being a cultural event within the fandom. thousands of votes, participation from everyone, a thing we'll never forget. we can't express enough how exciting it was to be a part of everything. we, the mods, had a fantastic time with everything. a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience, you know?
but it wasn't us that made this what it was. it was you all.
we just want to say, from the bottoms of our hearts: thank you. thank you for all the campaigning - for a while, it was practically all we could see. thank you for all the fic - we have a canonized ao3 tag, that's wild. thank you for all the art - several fandoms were practically revitalized by this and it was beautiful to watch. thank you to the ccs who went along with the bit - it was a delight to have you playing in here with us. thank you for the stories you told with this. for the narratives you created. for alliances we would have never seen coming, for betrayals, and most of all for being here, together, doing this. thank you all so much for making this what it was.
