In the first Danganronpa game, none of the characters are given birthdays. In the second, they are, with Hajime’s being January 1st, 1/1.

Eventually, Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload was released, which revealed the Trigger Happy Havoc character’s birthdays. Makoto’s is February 5th, 2/5.

One protagonist’s birthday is 1/1, the other’s is 2/5…

If you make the month Hajime’s birthday, 11, and the day Makoto’s birthday, 25, you get 11/25. Danganronpa’s release date.

Their birthdays are both a half of Danganronpa’s birthday!

ngl whenever people simplify takumi's most important relationships to nozomi's the good one eito's the bad one i feel like bashing my head against a wall. and then begging people to please, for the love of god, play v3 because imo the belief/doubt framework fits them very well?

nozomi's team belief. she's the heart of the team, the one that keeps them going, the reason to keep going and fighting. she consistently rallies the team/keeps them together and fighting for the future happily...but also belief without doubt is a lie, and if you just follow her dream of fighting for humanity to its end, you do some unfixably bad shit.

eito's team doubt. he's the one who keeps searching for the truth, at all costs if necessary. he's the one that throws a wrench in takumi's perfect little worldview, but that's good, because said worldview has some serious fundamental flaws. ...but doubt on its own forever kills morale. it's a slow death by despair on its own. (that plus some truths seem unbelievable and need the leap of faith of belief to find the full truth)

but like. it's not as simple as good/bad. going with just nozomi will lead to not questioning the mission and carrying it to its horrible, gruesome conclusion. going with just eito will lead to takumi eventually killing himself after 500 attempts. you Need both.
