Obviously I think it’ll be really interesting to see what the podcast changes about Season 16, but I'm more so interested, and stuck on, what it doesn’t change.

A lot of people here, Twitter, Reddit all say ‘Oh, I miss this from early seasons,’ or ‘RCG forgot the characters used to do this or act this way.’ Maybe you miss it, maybe RCG did forget, or maybe it’s character development?

Maybe there’s a reason two characters don’t have that dynamic anymore, maybe there’s an actual reason the gang have ‘changed’ or ‘aren’t the same characters anymore’ that’s much deeper than 'RCG forgot who they were in early seasons'.

This season, completely written and acted post-four seasons of rewatching and discussing, is going to tell us just that.

It’s one thing to be vaguely aware of what you used to write and how you used to act and perform something similar 12-15 years later based on memory. There's some kind of excuse to time...so now it's a whole thing. To actively rewatch it all, discuss it, and then continue to commit to the changes, continue with certain dynamics and mannerisms.

The characters, plots, dynamics and choices we see in Season 16 aren't going to just be a result of what they've rewatched and remembered and rediscovered, it's also going to be a result of what they've rewatched, acknowledged, and don't go back to. There will be a lot said in the things we don't see, in the decisions people think are 'out of character' that stay true through this season (and beyond).

Sunny's sweet 16 is going to say something loud. We're going to truly be confident in how RCG have decided to evolve these characters: what's going to be extremely clear it was a deliberate change in direction/evolution of a character (and their dynamics) and what's going to change, revert back to early seasons, be revealled as an unintentional consequence of forgetting your roots after almost two decades?
