Every so often I get annoying people complaining abt my post on how the original Tinkerbell books had disabled representation - who point out with quite nasty rhetoric that it was not perfect representation, with a ton of issues

No shit you fucking Sherlock. But there WAS representation that got blatantly cut from the movies. Why do you think the disabled girl who had to use a bird to move around got cut from the wide release theater movie?

Like you can complain all you want abt how much you hate the books for having imperfect representation - but my entire point was how even that imperfect representation WASNT ENOUGH FOR DISNEY. THEY GOT RID OF IT.

The book was probably so many people’s first look at disabilities in a fairy setting and instead of building on it - you want to tear it down? Support Disney for not building on it?

And it pisses me off because people keep reblogging it with no critical thinking.

Hey while it was genuinely fucked that disability rep took until the fourth movie to show up, the first movie and the books were developed seemingly almost completely separately. Some movie concept art I've seen dates back to 2001. So with the first movie it was more of a failure to add rep rather than intentionally excluding the disabled character. Fuck Disney though.

So sorry we haven't communicated recently on the Ring of Belief (2D version) riddles. I also haven't been as active as I'd like.

For the next riddle we need to unscramble a word:

I also unfortunately should say, back in the fall we wanted fo have another interview with this artist but he declined after the holidays due to poor experiences on the Tinker Bell project. So unfortunately, we do not have further details on Tinker Bell and Fawn's character quest. We'll try and share more pictures if he is willing to share with us, as he mentioned he is okay with that. But, he says that he is no longer comfortable speaking about the early Tinker Bell project. We will also share some more pictures not related to the quest.

Honestly people aren't ready for a live action Squirrel Girl. They want a mildly quirky sex symbol.

But Squirrel Girl is weird. She's WEIRD weird. She's autistic and barely bothers to hide it. She is very loud and annoying and insanely progressive. Her best friends are all people of color who are extremely opinionated and one of them is trans.
