Fun fact, hammering metal spikes into tree trunks is a federal crime in the US because environmental activists used to do it in the 80s to fuck up chainsaws and logging equipment.

DON’T DO THIS, YOU COULD SERIOUSLY INJURE AN INNOCENT PERSON. There’s a reason (aside from the significant threat of being labeled “eco-terrorists” by the FBI) environmental activists stopped using this tactic. I’m all for radical direct action, but all this does is mess with (and potentially injure) medium-to-low-wage workers who aren’t actively trying to destroy the environment, the same way your job/life involves fucking with the planet in one way or another (you drive a car to work, or you eat unsustainably and unethically grown food during your lunch break, etc.). If you’re gonna go after anyone, go after the heads of the operations they’re working for.

I’m home until next week so I can’t get to them right now, but I have multiple books in my dorm room that I can cite if you need proof, including The Environmental Case by Judith Laser, which has some specific examples.
