I imagine sci-fi would be a really popular genre on Remnant. Space travel is impossible to them unless they go through the trouble of developing non-dust technology from scratch, so what all lies out in space would capture everyone’s imagination.

What would their typical depictions of aliens look like? Little green guys or something closer to Grimm?

In a world where magic is a tangible thing, would their speculative space travel involve magic like in D&D’s Spelljammer setting? Or is the combustion engine a product of their fiction like Dust is to us?

Would gods factor into their writing about space travel? Like, is the god of animals just chilling on another planet? Is the afterlife a planet?

Also, random thought before I really need to go to bed, but the Tachonis appear to be building power to fight a war in the underworld. That appears to be their whole thing. They're trying to cut off the Old Path and build a bottleneck of trapped souls to power something.

Well. Um. The one defining feature of this world? That the gods are dead. The gods. Are dead.

So, um. What dead things might the Tachonis be trying to get ready to fight in the underworld? Just. As a random thought.

Or. On the other side of it. I’ve had this thought before with Spelljammer and the corpses of dead gods in the Astral Sea. If you are a necromancer. In a setting with dead gods.

How much power would it take to necromancy a god? Or multiple gods? Under your control? And what would happen (to you, to the world, to death itself) if you tried?

Everybody should be drawing their nonhuman high fantasy characters as kids and babies. Trust me when I tell you right now nothing will delight you like a fat baby orc or a preteen tiefling with awkward half-grown horns

Abigail depicted as if a loved daughter of Hannigram lowkey gives me the ick because neither Hannibal nor Will loved Abigail; they didn't even give her agency. And Abigail didn't like either of them. Hannibal used her as bait to lure Will into a conceptual family, which is what his character yearns for. Will absolutely cannot digest his guilt over killing Hobbs and thought that if Abigail got over her trauma caused by Hobbs, so could he. Abigail recognized in Hannibal and Will her own father who put her in a cage and forced her to do things which she did not want to do. They made her want to break free from them but she soon realised Hannibal is not a cage she can walk out from alive. So she bent to his will, and a part of me thinks that she even found Will a little pathetic and manipulatable. 'Murder family' is banal. Abigail was a victim and a caged bird.

I have been working on this ever since this scene happened early on. The way Aabria described coming out of the wolf form was so sick i immediately knew i had to put pen to “paper”. I hope I did her the justice she deserves 🥺

Wild thought: What if Thaisha does get kicked out of the circle of ancients. She did go against their core philosophy pretty blatantly and has made a few other decisions since that may not line up with the circles intentions. What if she does actually get kicked out and what it that means she can’t take levels in path of the ancients anymore? (Unlikely I know but stay with me!) Because it has to be under their guidance and teaching that her druidic magic advances. So what if Thaisha ends up multi-classing?!?!?!

Druid/fighter? Taking up cues from Julien and taking a more active combat role.

Druid/Paladin? Swearing herself to a cause even greater then her path in order to do what must be done.

Druid/bard? The powerful moment at the theater inspiring her to use her words and story telling to change minds and hearts and spinning her own bardic magic in doing so.

Druid/wizard? Her curiosity gets the best of her and she takes cues from Occtis and Murray and finds other ways to create her own magic.

I’m just saying!! It’s wildly unlikely but we do have other multi classed characters and I’d loved to see what Thaisha could do with other class abilities!!

Things I’m going crazy about right now:

- how old is Alba Davinos, like fr she and Julien could be close in age, but also Wick is the same age as Julien and has a little brother who is a literal child, so did Korall curse a little girl??? And did that little girl in return curse him to dance forever until her big brother came and cut his throat?

- what if Thaisha on her solo adventure casts locate object and instead of whatever she expects she gets a ping from the piercing she gave to Hannan and the Tachonis are using his reanimated body to hunt her down

- Lord Einfasen said he’d send someone to the Golden Orchard to help House Royce, and omg what if he sends Ingrid? Also consider Julien left her axe with Azune, like how fast do we think he can run before Miss no-orange-and-can-grow-nine-feet-tall summons another axe to kick his ass?

Hal and Thaisha who maybe struggle with the whole co-parenting thing since Thaisha has been gone for such a long period of time, but somehow come together to co-parent...

...the heir to a cult who is trying to unlearn all of the cult things, a fairy who may or not have been owned by someone at some point but most pressingly has a fair bit of anger issues, the undead scion to one of the sundered houses who has a more than a little messed up perception of right and wrong, a literal demon who is supposed to be a full adult but has the life experience of a baby which brings her down to at least an 18 yo girl, the guy what watched his dad die that now has rage issues and wayyy too many weapons, the guy that grew up in a war and has issues with autonomy and authority, and their actual kids ofc.

Thankfully, they have their extended family of Aunt Goth, Uncle Goth in Red, Uncle That Has A Nice Dog, Aunt Will Make You Do Your Homework And Will Correct It In Front Of You, and Uncle Cat

what could possibly go wrong?
