New grad diaries
I’ll admit I haven’t graduated yet, the definitive ranks and grades will be in next week if everything goes well (and it might not go well, the administration already failed once at it). But it doesn’t matter.
It doesn’t matter because I’m done, I know I’m graduating, I earned the right to prescribe right now the only thing that’s left is for the website to publish the results.
That being said I’m now in limbo, I’m not a student anymore but I’m not a resident yet either. And after getting back from my first vacation since October everything now feels weird. Especially since I started working again.
My current position is « standing in as a resident » nicknamed « baby resident » by the actual residents. It’s another limbo, don’t get me wrong I really like it but it’s a very big change to adapt to. Suddenly I have a student and I’m supposed to teach stuff to her, I was the student less than three months ago. Suddenly nurses come to me with a problem and they expect a solution. Suddenly I’m the one talking with families and other colleagues to make a treatment plan. Like what ? Oh and I’m controlling the prescriptions, I did an epilepsy treatment switch this week. It’s unreal.
So yeah graduating, it’s even scarier than finals week.
