as someone in my second year of medical administration work, i would honestly suggest an admin job for anyone with autism/anxiety/just anyone who’s looking for work but it scared to start.

i have social anxiety and chronic pain (and suspected autism) and a behind the scenes administrative job honestly does work out fantastically for me and probably would for many others if they were aware of how to find jobs such as these ones. i’m not face-to-face with customers, i do all my communication via email, it’s all very monotonous and repetitive for the most part, but there’s also times where i need to do problem solving and get to use my brain a bit more. with not being face-to-face with patients i do also get to listen to music while i work.

the particular admin service that my team provides also somehow manages to attract staff who are neurodivergent which creates a less awkward environment for me.

also i know it’s not well liked in the year 2025, but if i may just nerd out a second, i would similarly recommend a job like this for anyone with an earth-heavy birth chart. my credentials? capricorn sun, virgo moon, taurus mars. when i inherited my workload from the last lady who was doing my particular role at the moment (we do role rotations in my team every two years) she - and in turn myself - was two months behind where she was supposed to be with her workload. in a week i got myself ahead of schedule for where i was meant to be, and in turn i’ve been able to get my role-partner to assist in other roles so the whole team can start to get themselves up-to-date and it’s been insanely rewarding.

all in all i would find myself recommending an admin job to anyone who is looking for work and isn’t certain what they want to do, but knows they don’t want to deal with customers
