It's MCAT season! Good luck to our MEDPREP students that will be taking the MCAT this year.
Also in May, MEDPREP Students and SIU School of Medicine students had their annual softball game.
This is the list of reported medical schools that the 2016 MEDPREP class has been accepted too! Congratulations!
MEDPREP also offers the opportunity for students to earn a masters degree. This year, the MEDPREP program had 4 Master of Public Health and 2 Master of Biological Sciences graduates. Congratulations!
Also in May, MEDPREP celebrated the AMCAS opening with their annual application kickoff party! This event encouraged the students to start working on their application for medical or dental school.
MEDPREP 2nd year, Jasmine Holmes, was accepted to medical school! Congratulations!
May 1st, first year MEDPREP students and MEDPREP staff threw an amazing certificate ceremony and banquet for the MEDPREP second years. MEDPREP class of 2016 were celebrated during this event for all of their accomplishments and completing the MEDPREP program.
At the end of April we had our last 2015-2016 MEDPREP Club meeting. In this meeting, nominations on the 2016-2017 executive board were made. Congratulations to the new 2016-2017 executive board!
MEDPREP Students continued with events related to April’s National Minority Health Month with “Eating Your Way to Parfait Health”. The students ended this month with a screening event called “Unnatural Causes: Is Inequity Making Us Sick?”

National Minority Health Month kicked off the first event by promoting physical activity with Zumba!
Last month, MEDPREP students and friends battled for the Championship tittle for Intramural Co-ed Basketball. Unfortunately, they could not get the win, but they had a good run this year!
Second year MEDPREP Student, also known as Miss Black Tennessee, Ty Thomas, launches her Miss Black USA pageant campaign slogan “2 Legit 2 Quit on your Dreams”. MEDPREP Students and Staff support her campaign by rocking shirts with this slogan, in hopes of inspiring others to continue to chase their dreams.
