âA little more than a month! And Iâm already a CEO of my own company and everything!â
"A company here?" That reminded him that he needed to look into getting a job. He was nearly out of food in his apartment, and he didn't think his roommates would take kindly to him eating their food.Â
There was always Snow or Lightning to support him, but he didn't exactly want to rely on them more than he already did. Maybe getting a job would be best... "What's working like? Doesn't look like much fun to me."Â

Noah shrugs back. Hope is a very introverted kid, isnât he?
âWell, if you ever need someone to get you outside of your apartment, you can go ahead and call on me. We could paint, or I could teach you to take a decent picture. Or maybe a museum or whatever.
Or not. I dunno. Itâs up to you~â
Hope blinked, staring at Noah for a moment before his eyes shifted elsewhere. He supposed this meant he was making a friend--his first friend, outside of the people from his own world. That was progress, right?
"Um, okay. Well I live in Sector oo4, so that's... where to find me, I guess?"

Michael watched him glance away, then back.
âIâm sorry. Are you waiting for someone?â
"Hm? No?" He replied without thinking, internally cursing himself for letting himself pass up a chance to escape the conversation. He let out a long sigh, figuring maybe he could do a bit to contribute to the conversation instead of just grumbling and groaning at the other. "Uhhh, so how long have you been here?" Not exactly the most original conversation starter, but it was better than him just standing there.

âThatâs the spirit!â
Noah grins widely.
âAnd hey, if painting isnât your thing, thatâs no problem~
Iâm sure youâll find something to love as much as I do art~â
Noah winks, but then his eyes widen.
âThree? Wow.â
Obviously he doesnât get out much. Itâs been a month and Noah didnât even hear mention of this guy.
âMan, Iâm sorry. That stinks.â
Itâs weird to think that heâd be there someday.
"Hopefully, yeah," he replied, giving the boy a small smile. Hope wasn't the type to get too obsessed with any one thing, so he didn't really have anything he could call himself passionate about. But maybe he'd get there someday--maybe it was like Noah said, and he just hadn't found it yet. That was a nice enough thought.
"Oh, no need to be sorry; I'm not really a people person, I didn't really mind being inside all that time... Although, I didn't really feel well, so it's not like I didn't have a good reason, but... still... I don't know. I guess it hasn't been too bad since I've been out a bit more." Hope gave a light-hearted shrug, eyes dropping to his feet.

Michael smiled wider.
âThanks! I didnât even plan that one. It was just likeââ
He snaps.
ââthat!â
"Yeah..." Hope glanced off, as if he was looking for some sort of escape, and he thought back, trying to figure out if there was something he needed to do, some sort of excuse he could use to get out of talking to this guy. "Nice one."

âIt is. At least, I think it is, anyway. I just paint what I think when I hear a song. Itâs really fun. You should try it sometime!
And donât say you âcanât paintâ or whatever. Everyone can paint something. And everything can look beautiful to someone.â
Noah pulls out his camera and flips a couple pics over. A photo of a painting done by Picasso in sector oo4âs museum.
âLook here. The anatomy is all off. The eyeâs over there and the nose is like that. Basically any artistâs nightmare. But it isnât. Itâs one of the worldâs most marvelous and famous pieces of art simply because itâs not standard. See?â
Noah nods at Hopeâs second statement, then answers the question;
âHow long has it even been? Jeez⌠uh⌠a month, I think? Give or take a week?â
Hope had actually been about to say just that: Â he couldn't paint, he didn't have an artsy bone in his body, his artwork was something only a mother would love, but he clammed up once Noah continued.
He leaned towards the camera again, eyes scanning the photo of the painting for a moment. It wasn't exactly to his taste--he wasn't one for abstract stuff like that, because he couldn't really understand it, but he supposed it was certainly interesting looking. Original. And like Noah said, it was famous and regarded as marvelous.
Still, he wasn't sure he was ready to go around saying he was an artist or expert painter. "Okay, maybe I'll give it a try sometime." He wasn't too sure whether he really would but, who knew?
"A month, huh?" Hope gave a sheepish smile, feet shifting. "I've been here about 3 myself, honestly, haha... I just don't... uh, get out much."

âJosuke Higashikata! As I said before I like video game an-â
âSorry, I got too excited again, didnât I? That happens sometimes. I sometimes feel the need to explain everything in one go. My nameâs Josuke, but call my JoJo if you want. You said youâre called Hope right? Weird name, whatâs up with that?â
Okay, that time it was a tad easier for Hope to understand, although he still did go kind of fast for the boy. Biting his lip, he ran over what he'd just been told. Josuke Hisomethingsomething, or JoJo which certainly sounded easier and he liked video games and talked a lot. And--
The boy's eyes narrowed, scowling defensively at the other. "It's not a weird name--JoJo Josuke whatever you said is a weird name." And while it wasn't true that Hope wasn't a weird name (he'd heard time and time again that his name was weird, or for girls, or blah blah blah), but it was true that Josuke's name was uncommon as well. And even if the guy seemed nice enough, Hope didn't take too kindly to insults, even as moderate as as his name being weird.

âHope youâre so tiny and frail donât do anything otherwise you might break yourself ;A;â is what I was thinking throughout FFXIII
Snow forgot he wasnât dealing with just some ordinary kid, Snow was already perceptive beyond his years and his journeys with the renegade band f lâcie helped to fine tune this aspect. But Snow wasnât about to burden Hope with his troubles, especially his love life. Instead Snow gave a hearty laugh, cleverly trying to diffuse the situation. Something like that⌠that was his cross to carry, and definitely not Hopeâs.Â
âLetâs just say that in still waters, danger lies⌠But itâs not something you have to worry about. Iâll get us all outta here. I got some promises to keep.â
Snow had to get him home.Â
Hope frowned, gripping his other arm a bit tighter and looking off. So clearly Snow wasn't telling him whatever it was that was troubling him, which in turn, troubled Hope. He sort of thought they were close enough that they could talk to each other other whatever was upsetting the other; after all, Snow and the others were his closest friends. But he wasn't going to force him to talk about what he didn't want to talk about. "Okay, fine, I'll let it slide. But you can--you can talk to me if you want to, kay?"
He let a tight breath slide though his lips, glaring at up at taller man and rolling his eyes. "You'll get us outta here, huh? I've been here months, Snow, and I don't think I've seen too many people get out." Granted, he'd hardly spoken to anyone, so if they'd gotten out he probably wouldn't have noticed, but Snow didn't need to know that. "I mean, you really think there's a way out?"
time to try and get to replies haha

Snow gave a slight laugh at Hopeâs attempts at swatting his hand. Snow raised an eyebrow in response. âReally? Youâve just been indoors all this time? come on Hope thatâs not how we do things remember?â Snow teased as he poked the boyâs cheek.Â
Oh No Hope, you donât get big and tall and buff, you just get tall and bring all the fanbase to the yard.
Snow seemed to grow quiet at the mention of Serah, merely responding with a âHehâ. He stretched out his shoulder , swinging his arm.
âWell, yâknow⌠Hero stuff!â
The boy scowled at the blonde, swatting at him away again and covering his assaulted cheek from further attack. "I didn't feel well! And there were no Snow's or Lightning's tell yell at me to leave so I just--didn't." His scowl turned into more of a pout, and he looked off at the city, a soft sigh escaping. "It's a big city, and I'm just a kid."
No shhhh he stays fourteen and tiny forever because Hope-mun is probably the only person in the fanbase who does not like old!Hope shhhhh.
Hope didn't miss the change in Snow's expression, nor did he fall for his recovery/cover/whatever that was. His head tilted a bit, eyes narrowed. "Wait, no, what's... what's up?" It took serious stuff to make Snow go quiet, and Hope wasn't about to let it slide. Being stuck in his apartment for months left the side-effect of not knowing what was going on with anyone but himself, but he'd be damned if he was going to be out of the loop even after getting out again.

Snow couldnât help but feel a bit embarassed, sure he was glad to see Hope but⌠wellâŚ
âHeh, itâs just really nice to see you kiddo.â Snow rubbed the back of his head. But things were definitely looking up. If Snow was here that meant that they had a party, that meant he could bring Serah back home, but more importantly, it meant he could bring Hope back home. He could finally bring him back home, safely.Â
âSo whatâve you been doinâ? Gosh looks like youâre gettinâ all thin! You better start eating right otherwise you wonât grow up to be as big as me!â
Snow, it was pretty much impossible to get âas big as youâ seeing as how youâre 6â7.Â
âAnd to top it off, Lightning might get mad at ya, yâknow?â
Hope blinked, a bit surprised by the sincerity in Snow's voice, and his eyes dropped to his feet, giving the brute a slight shrug. "Yeah. Like I said, it's good to see you too."
But then the nice touching moment was ruined as he felt Snow ruffling his hair like he was a little kid or something, and he frowned, stepping away and swatting at Snow. "Stop it," he all but whined, regardless of the maturity he was trying to display.
Hope looked down at himself, tugging at his shirt in embarrassment. "I'm not that skinny! I-I'm just about the same as I've always been." Which he supposed meant he'd always been scrawny and pathetic looking, which wasn't what he'd intended to mean when he'd said that. He frowned at Snow, wondering idly what the other had looked like at his age, and if there was any chance he'd end up looking as big and strong and grown-up as Snow in a few years.
No, probably not.
"But I guess I should work on that, huh? Don't want Light to get mad at me." He sighed, crossing an arm over his chest. "Uh, I haven't really been up to anything--just... like, hanging around in my apartment. I haven't felt well for a while, but I started feeling better, so here I am. Guess it's been sort of a good day, meeting up with you and Lightning again. And I heard Serah was here, too. So, that's good. And what've you been up to, Snow?"
medravsyn started following you
snowy-hero:
Snow definitely could tell something was up⌠Lightning didnât seem like herself, Serah DEFINITELY didnât seem like herself, and Snow⌠well letâs just say heâs been in better places⌠It was almost as if Snow had given up all⌠Whoa, wait⌠What about HopeâŚ? What about SazhâŚ? Lebreau? Gadot? Oh no⌠Snow was just left with so many thoughts in his head⌠that wasnât his strong suit at all⌠Thinking. But then he saw that familiar orangeâŚ. Was he seeing things again?
âHopeâŚ? Is that you kid?â Snow kicked his foot off the wall he was leaning on, if that was Hope⌠Maybe there was a chance.Â
âHope?!â
Hope had had quite the tiring day--what with meeting three new people and meeting up with Lightning again. It had been nice, but he was getting tired, and he was slowly meandering back to his apartment to hide, hopefully not for so long because he might actually die if he stayed inside that long again. He was so zoned out, thinking about his day so far and admittedly also his bed, he walked straight passed Snow without noticing him, and without hearing whatever he'd said first. But once Snow screamed, Hope noticed him, jumping and spinning immediately, eyes wide like he was getting attacked.
He was relieved to see Snow and not some, crazed... lunatic or something, but he hardly thought his enthusiasm, for lack of a better word, was called for. But it was Snow, after all. He let out the breath he'd been holding since Snow's outburst, taking a step towards the blonde before he did anything else crazy. "Yes Snow hi, hello. Calm down."
Hope sighed, crossing his arms as he looked the other over. Lightning had just told him that Snow was here, but he hadn't imagined to run into him so soon. He figured he'd be wandering the city aimlessly for some time before he would run into the big lug. It was nice to see him again so soon, even if he was acting annoyed at him.
Maybe he owed the guy a smile.
"It's good to see you, Snow."

Heâs been here for a while. Of fucking course. Lightning couldnât believe it. He reacted like she knew he would though. Hope wasnât the type of person to ADORE social contact, so he holed himself up in his apartment for days, maybe even months⌠How did he not DIE? At least he was still the same as she had left him. Or well, he had been since he left her. God, sometimes the logic of the city was so twisted, it was frustrating!Â
âIâm glad to see ya, too. Hah, so you have been here longer than I have. Figures. I understand why you wouldnât leave the apartment either. Some of the people here, theyâre something else.â
Hope wouldnât have lasted anyone outside of his apartment, especially in a place as unpredictable as Hive City. She still had so many questions for the boy. Exactly how long had he been here? Had he made friends or enemies? Was there anything else she should watch out for? She soon pushed those questions aside; she had too much pride in herself to be asking for information all the damn time. She also wondered about his lâCie brand. Had it also stopped its progression. Shouldâve. If Serah and Lightningâs brands staying the same, it was only natural for all others to cease progression. Right, right. Did Hope even know who else was here?
âBut some of the other people around hereâŚTheyâre not too bad. Snow and Serah are here too.â
Hope faltered, hands reaching for the hem of his shirt as he tried to defend himself--not that he had much of a reason to, as he hadn't actually been insulted or anything. "It's not like I never left my apartment, y'know! J-just, recently..." He glanced off, kicking at the ground. "But yeah, some of the people here aren't... nice, I guess. I mean I've met nice people, but, ah, it's like a chore, having to get to know people and being totally alone here. It's nice to have someone I know and trust around again."
"But aside from that! I've been taking care of myself okay and all, and I'm not totally clueless about this place, so I guess that's good, right? I won't depend on you like I used to, okay?" He smiled at her, rocking back onto his heels as he grew more at ease. Being with a friend again was really relieving, and he felt so much better than he had lately.
He opened his mouth, ready to speak even more because even though almost nothing had happened to him here he apparently had so much to say, but then he heard the bit about Snow and Serah being here, and he froze, mid-thought, eyes brightening. "They're here too? That's great!" His smile grew a bit wider, his hand moving up to his lips to cover it up a bit. Hope looked back up at Lightning again, letting out an embarrassed laugh. "Wow, I need to get out more, huh?"

Lightning tried to keep a straight, serious face. However, she could help but crack a small smile. One by one, all of her friends were coming together. Even these asshole scientists wouldnât separate them. She wasnât the type to be generally close to person, but things change, right?Â
Sure, she still wasnât the happiest camper. Of course she wouldnât be; she hated this city with a burning passion. Yet, knowing that her former lâCie allies were still here gave her a sense of support. Even more than she had before.
âHey. About damn time ya got here.â
Forgot what he'd thought about wanting to go home and relax and be away from the general public--Lightning was here, and now his day was significantly better because he wasn't alone in this stupid city and of all the people to make him not-alone, it was amazing that it was Lightning, who he looked up to more than anyone else and had been there for him when he felt truly alone. And look at that--here she was again.
"About--oh." He smiled sheepishly, scratching at the back of his head and shuffling his feet. "I've actually been here sort of a while, honestly, but, I've been so out of it, I haven't... really, uh, left my apartment..." He imagined he'd probably get a scolding for that. "But I feel better now! And I'm glad to see you're here too."Â
"Wait, I guess it's not, because it's not good that we're here, really, is it? But I'm happy to see you here, if that's any better?"
