i don't know my future after this weekend - and i don't want to
From Beck's video for "Loser". I can't help but think how wonderful this must have been to see as the actual passerby. A native american dude with too tight jeans and a bare chest, jamming on a rooftop with an acoustic guitar. I also believe those are mirrored Oakley sunglasses.
Allison Schulnik / Purple Possum-Cat / 2010.
Allison rules. When I look at this sculpture I literally see it living in my apartment. It gives me such a weird feeling I could stare at it forever. Let's hope I'm psychic.
You may be familiar with Ms. Schulnik's weird phreak rock claymation from the video for Grizzly Bear's "Ready, Able". The video is simultaneously reminiscent of acid trips, cartoons, heart break, nostalgia, rot, alien abduction and the general feeling that all beauty gives into entropy - all via CLAYMATION! Who knew that clay could be such an evocative medium?
Bach toccata and fugue in d minor. Tis the season!

Molly Nilsson
Molly Nilsson is an eastern european synth dream girl. I first heard her music in my brother's car a few years back and totally thought it was a dude cutting out the melancholic goth vibes. Upon realizing this was none other than a blonde undercut modern day Nico, I could not have been more jazzed.
My favorite song of hers is one John Maus covered, Hey Moon! Both versions are sublime.

"Online I never feel alone, I never feel alive" If that couldn't sum up my modern day internal/existential internet crisis, than nothing can. Molly rules!
