For me, I choose what character I want to be, and then I study them. I stare at reference pictures, look up multiple angles and detail photos. I make sketches, even if they're not always good, to familiarize myself with details.

I love all those three versions of Wonder Woman costume, but if I have to choose the one I prefer most, it will be Gal Gadot costume because Gal looks more like a warrior in this costume than the others. Grab the same style shoes to paint - the one which will work great for your cosplay costume. And then clean them off and then strip them down with acetone nail polish remover. Do this to adhere to the shoes better.

Step 2.

Next, you should use masking or painter’s tape to block off the areas of the shoes that you need to protect. Choosing the right paint is important for making the cosplay shoes or boots. I paint the tongues first white and then cover them with a couple coats of blue. Since the tongues were wide and the taped off areas got in the way, I had to paint the left and right sides in separate coats in order to get full coverage.

Step 3.

Once the blue tongues were dry, I taped them inside of plastic sandwich bags to protect them. Next, I primed the rest of the shoe with white paint.This step isn’t completely necessary but I wanted to be safe by starting with an even canvas under the yellow paint.

Step 4.

After the white base layer, I moved on to yellow. When spray painting, always spray light coats to build up the color evenly over time and avoid runs. If you accidentally spray too much, you can blot the paint globs away with nail polish remover on a paper towel.

Step 5.

Since the remaining areas, I had left were small, So I paint them in by a paintbrush. 

Step 6.

Alternatively, I could have carefully taped off the areas I wanted to keep yellow and sprayed the rest with blue paint. Pick the option that will work best for you.

Step 7.

When you are finished painting and the shoes are completely dry, remove the protective tape!

Make sure to follow proper safety precautions when heating XPVC, because if you don’t the fumes can kill you or cause permanent brain damage. Don’t risk it, wear a respirator.
