It's interesting to me how Hornet clearly vibes with Shakra a lot & comes to trust her in a way that seems really relevant for someone like her who's always very vigilant & avoids showing weakness - Shakra's like like "You can stay here & I'll watch your back" & you can actually use her camp as a bench while she's there*. She even talks about personal stuff unprompted like that bit where she discusses Vespa (in which Shakra even gets to say some comforting words to her)
But on the other hand, one notable point where Hornet doesn't disclose something is when the subject of the Weavers comes up. (even though Shakra's all like, "I wish I got to duel one of those!" - unbeknownst to her, she can actually get her wish, sort of.) - at that point she was probably still reeling from the realization that they're not remembered in the most flattering light/ that they had some major dirt. She's finally found another one after getting her hopes up... and it's a crazy old lady who wants to present her remains to the main villain as a trophy.
That's sort of interesting / a noticeable omission / dynamic that would be interesting to explore.
(it's also implied her partners were largely travelers from the surface (seeing as she outlived them, whereas some ppl from the fall were still around in Hallownest proper & the surrounding/allied polities) - perhaps there was a similar dynamic at play there where she sought out ppl who wouldn't know/ be in awe of her parents & would just see her as herself.)
On the one hand they do partially have pretty similar backgrounds - both are warriors from small tribal communities that value toughness & vigilance & are distrustful of fancy schmancy tech (granted, distrusting the Citadel is a good idea), though both are open-minded enough more likely to help/protect someone who's less badass than to look down on them, they have some craft skills, they were both taken in by a badass lady who gave them their signature weapon after their birth mom ended up out of the picture, & they both come to central Pharloom as travelers, more or less experiencing it in tandem together from what's partially a similar perspective. It seems pretty natural that they'd become besties.
Except that there's also all that other stuff that sort of sets Hornet apart.
One wonders if she just wanted for her new friend to continue seeing her as 'fellow traveller/ crafty tribal warrior' for a little longer, and not as Extinct Mythical Beast / Scary Monster from the fairytales, especially once it dawned on her that she'd be considered acary Mythical Beast on both sides by the standards of Pharloom. (Snail Guy certainly has this view early on)
I wonder if she'd liberally talk about Deepnest and the Hive, but gloss over/ omit anything to do with the Weavers or Hallownest.
That's also why it's a bit immersion breaking to me in FFs when the backstory gets casually disclosed without some buildup or it being a big moment, cause I think it would be & maybe go along with some wory as to whether she's still going to be seen the same way.
Also, just to be clear, I'd see all this as completely orthogonal as to whether you wanna keep it as a friendship thing or give it a shippy spin.
*Come to think of, there's another thing like this in the OG game where the Knight can clearly tell that Mato actually means the invitation to stay a bit, while Oro doesn't; It might also suggest they actually feel comfortable around him / appreciate his pep talks.

Here's the fruit of two months of hard work, known as "My way", my little Silksong fancomic!
Based on the song "My way" from Frank Sinatra, I tried to illustrate how my last Steelsoul run went, and boy it was such a journey. Some trials and errors, and I don't regret it a bit!

Time to feed unprofessional managers what they’ve been dishing out for far too long.
Couple things here, for when you do this to people:
1. if you get the “answer my call” text, NEVER ANSWER THE CALL.
They are calling you because they want to have the conversation verbally, and be able to lie later about what they said or didn’t say. Force them to continue via text or email- force them to continue the conversation in writing or not at all.
2. “Lack of 2 weeks notice is unprofessional!” or the other version, “Not providing notice is illegal!”
No it isn’t. Neither is true.
And in the US, all states except Montana are “at will” employment (though you may hear an employer refer to it as “right to work” to make it sound better, it’s the same thing). Sure, at-will employment means they can fire you without cause, BUT! It also means that you are not legally required to give a reason for quitting, or to give notice of any kind.
Is it polite to give notice when you can? Sure. Do bosses expect it? Absolutely. But that does not make you legally required to provide it.
3. The only thing I would change in the worker’s interaction here was their response when initially asked to come in.
Employee: “Hey Mark. Sorry I’m unable to cover the shift tonight because I’m studying for my exam tomorrow.”
Don’t give a reason for your lack of availability. It may be tempting to. You may feel rude if you don’t.
DON’T DO IT.
You do not owe your boss any information about what you do off the clock, and any reason you give will only ever be used against you.
Boss: “Hey I need you to cover Jasper’s shift tonight.”
Employee: “Sorry, I’m not available.”
And leave it at that.
Do not elaborate.
Do not offer additional information.
When you boss asks you to elaborate, because they will, be polite but firm. “With respect, that’s personal. I’m sorry, but I’m unavailable to cover this shift/work late/come in early/etc.”
Be a broken record- you’re unavailable. That’s the only information they need to know, and it’s the only information they have a LEGAL RIGHT to know.
Please stop giving your bosses information they don’t need to know and don’t get to have, because they’re only going to try and use it to fuck you over later.
My job is HR. The above is completely accurate.

Hornet's methods may be a bit unorthodox, but she gets the job done. Sometimes, too efficiently for everyone else's comfort.
