📚Do you ever want to read more but just can’t seem to? Maybe you’re having reader burnout.
If you do, here is How you can get out of a reading slump:
•Block out time to read, for eg when you wake up or before you sleep
•Start a virtual “reading hour” with a friend
•Create a cozy reading environment
•Listen to a funny/interesting audiobook
•Read books you enjoy or that teach you something (or both)
•Join a book club, haven’t found the one you like? Create one 📚
What you should recognize:
•Why you don’t feel like reading
•Are you having reader burnout?
•Are you reading for a ‘number’ goal? (that will inevitably cause reader burnout as you try to read book after book without actually enjoying reading)
•Are you turning reading into a chore?
•Have you turned it into a challenge?
Once you recognize what you’re doing, it will get easier to get out of your slump.
•Read books you enjoy! It shouldn’t feel like work, this is what you do in your spare time!
•If you don’t like what you’re reading, you might go months without touching a book.
•Block time for reading (in your schedule/calendar) as often as you can, even if it’s just 5 minutes a day!
•Read to learn new perspectives and ideas because ultimately that will help you grow and improve as a person(And will make you want to read more!).
•Enjoy the process, life is too short to waste on a bad book.
•If you’re not enjoying a book, don’t feel the need to finish it just to add a book to your ‘read’ list. It’s not worth it if it.
