「Opening 02」– VIVID VICE
Inuvember 2015 Day 3: Sesshomaru and Rin
I've always watched jongsuks drama but this one in particular is so confusing. I just read your recap of ep 1-4 and there's so much connections. For a second I thought that I missed a whole episode haha. I'm lost about cutting hair portion u mentioned about how the girl wanted to save her mother? And I'm also confused about why young jaechan was that the funeral. Isn't he older jaechan now(jongsuk)? Or is he playing two roles
I found this drama a lot less confusing than W or DS tbqh… If anything, it is pretty clear about what it is presenting. We don’t know everything about the rules but what is presented so far makes sense.
Suzy saw her future self in a dream where her mother had died because of an accident caused by her. Since she saw that her dream self had long hair, she thought that by cutting hee hair, she could save her mom. (The girl with the baseball is Suzy/Hongjoo in the past, if that was unclear.)
So young Jaechan and young Hongjoo met each other at the funeral in the past because both their fathers were killed by this army guy. (At least we are 80% sure Jaechan’s father is the policeman who was killed. It is implied in the news broadcast and the fact that Jaechan dyed his hair black and is wearing a suit.)
Am i the one who accept fantasy plot/parallel timeline too easily or this anon didn’t pay attention while watching at all???
lee jong suk and yoon kyun sung for celebrity bromance please!!!
i wish i have Kyunsang’s patience for kids
메롱 :P
Even after saying for so many times that I won’t come, I come (almost) every year. The fact is 4th is September date has become kind of a tradition, or as Jongsuk says, a promise between him and his fans. With all that being said, the quality of this year’s fanmeeting is so much better than the previous ones. He prepared dance (PSY’s New Face), a toy-grabbing machine for the fans to grab his signed gifts (which caused great laughter when fans were shown to be much better than him at the machine), his friends from While You Were Sleeping came on stage to promote the drama (Shin Jaeha even stayed to sing a solo song with his beautiful voice), he did a bit of MC showing off his childhood photos and old report cards. He brought flowers to give to fans and prepared an aegyo song even… If you have never been to a Jongsuk fanmeet, this was the one to be at. He seemed at ease, even poking Suzy with the Styrofoam finger props or kneeling when he failed the toy grabbing machine for the fourth time. He seems confident to skip questions when he is not comfortable with them and he even seems confident in asking other’s questions. On the news front, here are some highlights: Jongsuk will be singing a song in the OST of WYWS, he is currently reviewing some scripts for his next drama, he meets up with Jaeha almost everyday and he voluntarily slept in the bathroom when Haein-hyung snored too loudly during their Japan trip. There is a lot more he shared but just telling you doesn’t do it justice. You have to be there to see how he curls himself into Yoon Kyunsang’s arms and is like HYUNGGGG STOP TOUCHING ME. You have to be there to see how he puffs out his cheeks when dancing, cute without even trying. You have to be there to see him silently waving to fans even when they are conducting interviews with the other cast members. He stops whenever someone yells from the audience, even when it breaks his train of thoughts, he answers. - OPPA I LOVE YOU - me too… - LEE JONG SUUUUKKKK - yay lee jong suk! - I couldn’t stick my letter on opppaa - ah I’m sorry I guess this is also my passive aggressive way of telling people not to yell like this, but it’s only a tiny complaint, most fans are just lovely. Take this example: there were a few Suzy male fans there being rowdy and I still remember that girl next to me tapping them on the shoulder and asking them to be respectful. This is Jongsuk’s fanmeeting, she said. Yes. This is where we meet once a year from all over the world. Tomorrow we go back to our work and our busy lives, but today we look upon our lovely star and share a happy sigh because he is such a worthy person to love. Happy birthday, Jongsuk ah…💖
Every year i read Hito-chan fanacc of his Bday FM and become emotionally wrecked ;____;
The best way I am capable of ranking my Wanna One by biases.
1. Kang Daniel
2. Yoon Jisung/Ha Sungwoon/Ong Seongwoo/Park Jihoon
3. Hwang Minhyun/Lee Daehwi/Lai Guanlin
4. Kim Jaehwan/Park Woojin/Bae Jinyoung
Like this is the best I can do. Cuz truthfully it’s like Daniel and then everyone else is tied lol But I tried to split them up a little bit at least.
Nobody asked and I really do love them all but I rank them in a similar way too, like in batches.
1. Lee Daehwi
2. Ong Seongwoo / Kim Jaehwan / Kang Daniel
3. Ha Sungwoon / Yoon Jisung / Bae Jinyoung / Park Woojin
4. Lai Guanlin / Park Jihoon / Hwang Minhyun
5. K-Pop as a whole

The 10 Best K-Drama Couples Of 2016
This past year was full of some of the most epic K-drama love stories. From a soldier falling in love with a doctor, to a mermaid falling in love with a con-artist, there really were so many unique and heart-fluttering love lines. These couples showed us that love can conquer all and that it can also transcend time, status, and even space!

5.Han Hyo Joo and Lee Jong Suk
Talk about some crazy chemistry. This couple was off-the-charts sizzling. So much so that it sometimes made us weak in the knees! They the interviews leading up to the drama and magazine shoots oozed and easy chemistry. In their drama, “W,” Oh Yeon Joo (Han Hyo Joo) and Kang Chul (Lee Jong Suk), Oh Yeon Joo’s ideal type comic book character, were so in love with each other that Kang Chul managed to fall in love with her twice – swoon!

His biggest smile In her dream
I don’t remember you.
But I read our story and I need to find out what happens next. I need to know that your husband somehow made it back to you – that this sadness was not the end of the story. I need to know there is more than Book 34, that Book 35, 36, 37… they will tell the story of how he remembers you and you two fight the world together.
I need to find out so I refuse to turn myself in. Even though, every day, my name is slandered on the news and my friends don’t believe me and beg me to turn myself in. I pull out that bullet. I staple my wounds shut. I hide away from sight even though my name turns sour every day. I wait for you – you spoke as if you would return immediately why aren’t you here yet – I wait.
While I wait, I read and reread that comic. I thumb the pages with familiarity now. What did she want her husband to do? Ah yes. When I go to the market to buy food, I keep my head down but my eye catches on a dress that would look nice on you. At the market, I think about what I can buy you – I haven’t got much money now so maybe an ice-cream will do? I practise making something better than ramyun; day after day, I eat failed attempts at cabonara spaghetti until I get it right. I can almost see you smile when you eat it; no one can say I don’t give it my all to complete my given assignments.
I go for my daily drive. The bus stop is coming up on the horizon. Will you be there? You haven’t been the last 27 times I looked. I can hardly look. Do I even know how to speak to someone normally anymore? My hand flickers into transparency as I turn onto the main road. I gaze over my translucent fingertips, past the steering wheel and hope to see you standing on the curb.
I hope you appear before I disappear.
This is more an insight than a fic... since it feels so real...
I hope we're meant to be bothered by the shooting scene in W. Right now, I'm seeing it as proof of KC's transition from flat manhwa persona to real, complex, troubled person. YJ says he won't shoot, because she knows him as the fictional "good guy," but he's already become something beyond that, ever since Han Bridge. He declares she still "doesn't know things," and shoots. With this act, KC learns about YJ's nature, but we viewers learn even more about his. Do I give the show 2 much credit? lol
I really hope it was meant to be disturbing, too. That it was meant to be just as not okay as it felt to watch. They definitely framed the scene as dangerous and upsetting. A subversion of what YJ and we as the audience believed about KC until that point.
Real quick, weird aside about the gun play in this show: being an american who lives in the rural Western states, I readily admit, the absolute flaunting of any kind of gun safety in that scene distracted me really badly. I’ve never even held a loaded gun, but I know more than KC does. You don’t just point a gun at people! Even if it’s not loaded! You certainly don’t point it at yourself or scratch your head with it, you idiot. You’re supposedly an Olympic level marksman and you don’t know basic gun safety? WTH?
So that might have been part of the reason I was so uncomfortable watching that entire scene, not just the part where he threatened and then shot her.
I want to believe that they’re intentionally making KC seem shallow and unfeeling, because they want to develop him into a “real” person. If that is the case, I will be able to forgive this scene for the most part. There will be a couple other criteria the writer will have to meet for me to get over it entirely, though.
1) KC needs to realize the severity of the wrong he did YJ, not just by shooting her but throughout the entire kidnapping. He needs to realize how scared and traumatized she must have been and sincerely ask for her forgiveness. His “apology” after the incident didn’t cut it, in my mind. I’m hoping that the more human he gets, the more he will appreciate the amazing woman YJ is, and how incredibly undeserved her protection and concern for his well being.
2) I’m still waiting for the explanation for why he seemed to think it was okay to shoot her in the first place. Even if he was convinced at that point that she was from a different dimension, shooting someone through the chest just because you’re pretty sure that it’s not going to hurt them, is totally unacceptable. He said there was a reason, but he hasn’t been forthcoming. So get on with it, KC, explain thyself.
3) There needs to be a serious reversal of fortunes at some point. The preview for episode 5 indicates that there will be. In fact, based on the preview, his existential break down is going to be every bit as extreme and painful as I could possible have hoped (what a sadist I am…) but that needs to extend to the relative power imbalance of the main characters. The fact that he has shot her and held her against her will, and she still is vulnerable to his flirting, her heart is still fluttering at his hollow comeons, is really bothering me. I want him to be dependent on her in proportion to how much she was previously in his power.
I don’t think it’s a bad thing to expect a lot of this show or hold it to a high standard. It certainly has set the bar very high for itself in the first couple of episodes, and I am hoping desperately that it will maintain the same quality throughout. There is a thoughtful hand behind the plot and character development so far. Whether it is as thoughtful as what some of the fans have put forward, remains to be seen.
What you said above, “With this act, KC learns about YJ’s nature, but we viewers learn even more about his.” rings true to me. While the fact that he is capable of shooting her is problematic, in terms of the loveline, if the writer’s view of the character is as complex as what we now theorize, it could have been a very good character development move.
Here’s what I mean by that:
The thing that happened to KC on the Han River Bridge, which made YJ’s father begin to suspect he had created a monster, is he developed a free will. Something, apparently, none of the other characters in his world have (yet?) His free will is what he can thank for his being alive and in the real world right now. His free will is also what allowed him to shoot YJ despite it being “out of character” from her fan perspective. But was it out of character? For the KC of W the webcomic, certainly it seemed to be. Even the other characters reacted as though it was strange and frightening. But for the KC of W the show, it might not be as out of character as we’ve been led to believe.
While the idea that KC is a monster in the eyes of his creator seems very sensational and not to be taken seriously from the viewer’s standpoint (we are supposed to be rooting for KC and YJ to get together at some point and have a happy ending, after all, this is till a Kdrama) maybe it’s not quite as much of an overreaction based on too little information as what we initially thought.
Does the fact that YJ’s father thinks KC is monstrous make him monstrous in some way? He is KC’s creator, and clearly KC isn’t entirely autonomous. When he went out on the roof, even though the series of decision that he made was unusual for him and put him stupidly in danger, KC wasn’t able to resist making those decisions and the only way he survived was by pulling YJ into the comic itself to save him. Literally, he had to magically manufacture a deus ex machina for himself, in order avoid his ordained end.
What kind of nature does he have outside of his creator’s control? How much give and take is there between character and author? How much will KC change now that he knows about his true nature and has entered in the real world?
I would be very interested to see the answers to these questions as the show goes on. I would especially like to see an exploration of KC’s capacity for evil, his moral grayness. Within the confines of his story he is the quintessential good guy but outside of the script YJ’s father provides him, is he more good or evil? Is his ability to choose between good and evil what makes him human in the first place?
Hmmm, I foresee many a sleepless night of composing meta commentary in my future. I pray this one doesn’t disappoint me and gives me plenty to think and write about. Hopefully that addressed some of what you were getting at in a round about way. Thank you for the ask!

urgh. same.
it’s the problem of life and death you shouldn’t do it just to assure things.
especially when you aim for nothing but her chest/heart.
i want to convince myself that Cheol used to shoot the mysterious man but it still won’t do.
W - Episode 1
I like how Dad kills Chul with his pen and Yeonjoo saves him with a pen. I like how he spills red ink to indicate his death and Yeonjoo throws away the red ink to use the pen as a conduit to life.
I like these details.
