I loathe Luther for so many reasons but the biggest is that Vanya came to him for help, and not only did he not give it to her, he deceived her first. Vanya could be considered volatile, but notice that as he was choking her, the building shook but nothing collapsed. She had some semblance of control. When she woke up in the chamber, she wasn’t ready to tear the world apart; she was panicked and scared. She was screaming she was sorry. There’s some talk about how anechoic chambers can drive you insane after some time. And idk, Vanya was in there for a bit before she went from “I’m sorry” to murderous. Luther then has the audacity to erase anything good from the agency of his sister, work to drive the entire umbrella academy against her, and seriously suggest leaving her in the present to die instead of taking her back with them. Out of all of them, Luther was the most cruel to Vanya, it just so happened to not be in a traditional way.
