i do not see a massive problem with certain hcs, sometimes something is just fun for the sake of having fun. someone can have an understanding of the message and themes of these shows while also just wanting to have fun with the characters and be a bit silly goofy, these things aren’t mutually exclusive. sometimes the curtains are just blue, i think what one person sees as problematic can just be someone else’s lived experience or someone just wanting to have fun with a character outside canon.
