Anyway I am begging young lgbt people on tumblr to go out and connect with other LGBT people if possible, if you can please meet other LGBT people, talk with them, share your experiences, join a community or volunteer for an organisation. and you’ll realise nothing people talk about on this website makes sense and is just stupid and you’ll thank me

I’m watching that documentary “Before Stonewall” about gay history pre-1969, and uncovered something which I think is interesting.
The documentary includes a brief clip of a 1954 televised newscast about the rise of homosexuality. The host of the program interviewed psychologists, a police officer, and one “known homosexual”. The “known homosexual” is 22 years old. He identifies himself as Curtis White, which is a pseudonym; his name is actually Dale Olson.
So I tracked down the newscast. According to what I can find, Dale Olson may have been the first gay man to appear openly on television and defend his sexual orientation. He explains that there’s nothing wrong with him mentally and he’s never been arrested. When asked whether he’d take a cure if it existed, he says no. When asked whether his family knows he’s gay, he says that they didn’t up until tonight, but he guesses they’re going to find out, and he’ll probably be fired from his job as well. So of course the host is like …why are you doing this interview then? and Dale Olson, cool as cucumber pie, says “I think that this way I can be a little useful to someone besides myself.”
1954. 22 years old. Balls of pure titanium.
Despite the pseudonym, Dale’s boss did indeed recognize him from the TV program, and he was promptly fired the next day. He wrote into ONE magazine six months later to reassure readers that he had gotten a new job at a higher salary.
Curious about what became of him, I looked into his life a little further. It turns out that he ultimately became a very successful publicity agent. He promoted the Rocky movies and Superman. Not only that, but get this: Dale represented Rock Hudson, and he was the person who convinced him to disclose that he had AIDS! He wrote the statement Rock read. And as we know, Rock Hudson’s disclosure had a very significant effect on the national conversation about AIDS in the U.S.
It appears that no one has made the connection between Dale Olson the publicity agent instrumental in the AIDS debate and Dale Olson the 22-year-old first openly gay man on TV. So I thought I’d make it. For Pride month, an unsung gay hero.
dude had guts, someone needs to update his Wikipedia page
Take a break from obsessively hate-reading blogs. Try obsessively hate-reading newspapers or “literary fiction.”
no. i don’t want whatever you’re selling
let her in wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll never get tired of guys suggesting polyamory to their gfs then having their dreams shattered when the girl is getting dicked down by chads every weekend while he can’t even get one sidepiece because women are universally more selective sexually even if they have 15th century peasant hair and are open minded free spirits
Howdy folks!
As most of you will probably know already, Tumblr’s been messing around with algorithms for a while, and seemingly accounts are getting suspended all over the place for having links in their posts (?!)
I’ve been thinking about closing my account for a while anyway, and I’m not interested in trying to keep ahead of Tumblr changes if I’m not using the account much, so I’m gonna be deactivating the Tusks tumblr in a day or two.
If you want to keep up with my other stuff, you can find me on Twitter, Patreon and itchio as HxOvAx (which I’m not sure if I can even link to because of these changes!!! AHHHH). Thank you to everyone who helped share the word about Tusks here on Tumblr, youse are amazing, and I appreciate it so, so much. <3
Aaand on the back of Tumblr deciding to get rid of adult content from Dec 17th onwards, here’s a reminder that you can find me on Twitter, Patreon and itchio if you’re gonna be leaving Tumblr!
can’t wait for the final boss battle of duolingo when you fight the 50 foot owl armed with nothing but your wits, a sword, and your shaky grasp of verb conjugations

True to form, I actually messed up the verb conjugation when I first put the words on this. XD
holy crap
people on this website have NO idea what ace/aro means. like. if you’re aromantic you feel no romantic attraction. if you’re asexual you feel no sexual attraction. it’s not that deep. if you’re aromantic, there’s no reason to date anyone.
there’s no way to have a healthy romantic relationship when one person isn’t romantically attracted to the other. and i shouldn’t even have to start on what’s wrong with having sex with someone who says they feel no sexual attraction. like i said, it’s really nowhere as deep as people make it out to be.
that “action does not equal attraction” thing that keeps going around makes NO sense. if i say i’m gay and i know i’m gay but then i ask a girl on a date (without being pressured or forced into it), then i could say that same thing to justify the fact that my actions go directly against what i claim my orientation is.
this isn’t a straw man. i’ve seen these things everywhere and it’s there is no possible way to have a healthy relationship if one or all people involved identifies themselves as ace/aro and they’re in a relationship that falls under the field that they describe to have no attraction in.
this has. nothing to do with “ace discourse” either. it’s a basic understanding of personal labels and how they work. if someone is asexual and/or asexual, then they’re aromantic and/or asexual. i keep seeing people/posts that are like “positivity for ace people who have sex!” or “positivity for aros in relationships!” which makes no sense unless it’s positivity for people who have been forced into those things, which would be a completely different situation.
Put that on your radar.

“If youre not hiding anything youll let me look through this” is a gross manipulation tactic
You have every right to keep your stuff private, it is natural to not want people, no matter how close they are, going through your phone/papers/conversations/pictures.
Dont let them trick you into feeling bad because youre a human who wants privacy.
