if i were to make a soundtrack for a new asp movie i would get my inspo from the Oppenheimer film. ludwig göransson’s compositions are really good at building suspense and that empty stale cold air after a tragic accident

ESP GROUND ZERO. i can see it paired with the aftermath of finny’s second fall— the buzzing sound and gut wrenching pulsing bass that you did something wrong (again), you’re in a state of shock. then everything finally processes, a somber piano plays as grief fills you. you feel everything and nothing all at once. you did it. again.

Thinking about how many people responded to that post about blond Finny ASeparatePeace headcanons despite canon brown hair Finny by saying “he just has blond vibes! He just Feels blond!” And like I don’t think any of them are really meaning harm or thinking about it deeply but what does that mean? Are they calling him a bimbo (himbo?) for being generally a happy-go-lucky guy before the Horrors occur? Is it a comment on his intelligence? Is it the way he represents a certain American ideal of boyhood? Is it his constant descriptions of being the athletic & social ideal? Bc I really don’t think associating any of these things with being Spiritually Blond is a good look….. maybe it should lead them to self reflection about how they perceive blond hair socially

i honestly think people associate finny with blonde hair bc of his golden retriever personality.

as for ginger idk sometimes you just get a typa vibe for a character and their hair. i first thought he was a ginger too upon reading asp. but i have to ask everyone a curious question: what makes everyone think finny has red hair?

but anyways in short: i personally think everyone means well and are just making innocent head cannons abt finny’s hair. but who knows i can’t read peoples minds lol

personally i’d watch 1972 if you want something more book accurate, emotionally driven and serious, and then 1983 for something more funny and entertaining.

i mean honestly both of them aren’t the greatest and aren’t completely accurate but still entertaining nonetheless

sometimes i think about brinker and elwin/leper being parallels to gene and phineas in a lot of ways. and i think its super obvious when you consider how phineas' fate was determined when gene finds out how fucked up leper got from The War. like there was just no way either of them were making it out okay
