The reason Damon doesn't use his bird powers throughout the series is because he doesn't actually have any. It was a plan days, weeks, in the making. He spent almost a month before episode one chasing, capturing, and compelling them to help with his dramatic entrance. He’s the only person in the show who does this because he’s the only lunatic willing to scatter birdseed under a rigged cardboard box, sit there for hours, and yank the string the moment a crow wanders in.

oh oh even better, let's put him in Emma, asfhdsjk Emma's entire thing is viewing people around her like a play & meddling to better their lives as she sees fitting, she would take two looks at Klaus's little freak self and then constantly get in his space to try to "fix" him or play mind games with the people surrounding Klaus when that was unsuccessful, he would try to murder her but she has that main-character mithril plot armor, they would clash so beautifully like a trainwreck into a housefire

I say we go full Tom and Jerry with it. Klaus and Emma are both absolutely convinced they’re the main character. Emma is determined to play matchmaker and keeps trying to pair Klaus up with increasingly unsuitable women every few days. Meanwhile, Klaus is genuinely trying to kill her in increasingly nonsensical ways. At one point, he tries to drop an anvil on her—it just hits the ground with a sad thud, bounces once, and rolls off into a nearby river. He attempts to turn and compel Mr. Knightley to murder her, but Knightley keeps getting distracted by something mildly philosophical and politely declines to meet him in any mysterious alleys and through some strange plot-related contrivance is always somewhere else when Klaus is ready to set his plan into motion. Somehow, through an increasingly baffling series of hijinks, Klaus gets roped into Emma’s matchmaking schemes. Emma is thrilled to have a partner in crime. Klaus, however, spends the entire story convinced he is in the Regency version of SAW.

Klaus shows up to a masquerade dance (so obviously a trap! disguises and deceit all about, practically inviting foul play!) with a special fancy "fake" dagger as part of his costume he's specifically chosen for dramatic, aesthetically pleasing murder during the toast; the knife is immediately confiscated at the door bc "silver really isn't your color, dear Mr. Mikaelson, however will you win Ms. Featherbone with dress so insignificantly comprised? So wonderful, really, that I am here to guide you so." (and how dare she, Klaus is an artiste--- but no, there are too many masked eyes upon them just now.)

Klaus has been shanghaied into attending her matchmaking socializing picnic to help with one of her schemes & brings poison for their tea? "Oh don't be so silly, darling! We mustn't drink our tea, people do look so unsightly when they swallow, don't you think? Ghastly thing to do in public when avoidable. No, this is just for us to linger and listen with!" Klaus thinks she's a witch
