I’m a Evangeline's girl, I obviously love Valentines Day.

honestly sometimes kinda felt like jacks didn’t deserve evangeline

(i personally believe that no one deserves evangeline fox 🤭) i understand that ouabh's formula doesn't work for everyone, but i believe it's a matter of understanding the purpose of the book and jacks' character. he's the former villain.

still, we can see how hard he works for evangeline throughout the books. he takes several actions that show us how he cares and watches over her, how he truly loves her. (i mean, come on, he literally traded his heart for an artifact that would keep her safe.) at the end of the books he canonically says that he is a better version of himself for her, that he changed for her.

evangeline is introduced to us as someone with a kind heart who believes in fairy tales, and she managed to fall in love with the story's villain. it's honestly beautiful. jacks isn't worthy of many things, even the story' curse recognizes this, but he tries to be the best he can for her.

this is, after all, what the book proposed to us. the fairytale girl who fell in love with the story's villain. literally.
