Update in 2021
It’s officially been almost 4 years since my vertical sleeve gastrectomy.
My weight is back up to just 7 pounds under my highest weight when I started my weight loss journey in 2017.
Since 2017:
I got married, I bought a house, I’ve been promoted twice and now am comfortably in salaried position in my company, my wife and I are family planning, I have four cats and two dogs. My life has changed drastically from the 24 year old woman I was when I started dedicating my life to bettering my health.
I’ve always been honest on this blog. I felt it was my only place I could be honest and the truth is that I failed. In 2018 when we moved, I was stagnant around 270s. I couldn’t get past the plateau for months upon months. Then I got up to 280 and got discouraged. I stopped going to the gym. I gave up on trying to eat the best way I knew how. I hated where I lived and I hated my job. I lost both my grandparents in 2019. I was severely depressed.
I have an eating disorder. Food is the only constant in my life and it brings comfort.
I sustained 280s until the pandemic hit at the beginning of 2020.
Mid pandemic I started going to therapy.
As of today, 3/3/2021 I’m 320 pounds.
I only know my weight though because my wife and I signed up for a new membership at a fitness club instead of a standard gym. We got a full health and fitness assessment with a personal trainer.
I’ve been tasked with keeping a food journal and we have an appointment on Friday with a personal trainer and we are joining a group class on Monday. We’ve made a commitment to go 5 times a week.
I won’t be complacent. I will begin again. I will love myself at every stage and be compassionate to myself. I know I can do better.

Starting weight, 1-month postop, 2 months postop.
Cardio is Hardio
I have been doing a lot of strength training up until this point but I think it’s time to buckle down and kick this weight loss plateau in the booty with lots of cardio.
Today I went harder than ever before, burned 247 calories, hit nearly 3 miles. Finally reached 270 lbs. Can’t wait to see 260-something.
Trying to still celebrate the small victories and remember that although I’m not close to where I wanna be, I’m far from where I was.
* Really liked this post from fitchris25 so I decided to do my own version*

Amazing.
That one on the very top left is my EXACT build.
I’ve only lost 3 lbs since Oct. 19th, seriously...what the fuck. That’s nearly 3 weeks. Only 3 lbs, not even 2 months after my vsg. Wtf am I doing wrong??
POST VSG: Almost 2 months update
I sort of dropped off the face of the earth because I don’t feel like I’ve made significant progress to feel proud of.
I’ve lost 27lbs since surgery on September 13th.
I’ve kind of been stuck in the mid 270′s and I just feel discouraged. Meh
