Observations on Salamanca:
It's like a giant small town. Everyone is out and about on the streets and they greet each other when they meet so enthusiastically. There is no ignoring of people -- everyone seems very connected to each other. Also, when I arrived later in the evening (like 9pm), everyone was out walking (dar-ing un paseo), just like I remembered from the past. Madrid is much busier, prettier, and generally better now than it was in 1991, but Salamanca is like a time machine for me back to 1991 Spain.

Can't remember if I uploaded these so here goes - Fez food pic dump
More Fez!
These are all pics of the Nejjarine Museum -- This used to be one of the many caravanserais/foundouks in Fez. Because it's so ornate and beautifully carved, they made it into a museum of wood art. No pics allowed of the exhibits tho.
More Fez!
This really happened.
Madrid Barajas Airport, May 20, 2025
This wooden bar across here was one of several that were intended to keep out people on camels, donkeys etc. because it's close to the Khairaouine Mosque area.

There was so much more to this but it was hard to take pics

OOPS I FORGOT TO SAY THAT STORKS NEST ALL OVER THE CITY HERE - outside the medina - on anything remotely high - they build GIANT nests and they are considered to be good luck in Morocco. They are also just cool. I saw a few in Marrakech but there are a TON here.
