I’m arranging this for SATB and piano, wish me luck
Today’s song is What is Hip - Tower of Power
pack all my troubles in a jar, send them out to sea with a note that plainly reads “do not return to me!”
I'm orchestrating this piece for Wind Ensemble for my final project. It'ssofuckingprettyI'mcrying
idk why but I'm really amused that trumpet players are called "trumpeters"
I've changed my mind, this concerto is like a run-on sentence. What are you doing, Bach?
I'm actually enjoying my orchestration assignment, right now. It's Bach, and how do you fuck up Bach? (aside from parallel fifths..)
Written in 2008, for classical guitar, electric guitar (palm muted), and electric bass. I like it but it's one of those things I feel like somebody else has already written something similar, so I've never really revisited it.
Small piece written, like, five years ago for a character I'd created (named Mundus, golly!). For flute, saxophone, and double bass.
Justice For Saint Mary - Diablo Swing Orchestra
Why you should listen to this:
You like Panic! At the Disco and electronic music (dubstep?) (transitions between P!atD to.. something heavier & electronic-esque)
The vocalists voice
Strings and guitars??
LOW BRASS
Beautifulness and then EPICness
and because I said so :U
Geraldine's Routine - Tape Five
Reasons you should listen to this:
The lead singer's voice timbre
The harmonies when they sing "Geraldine's routine"
The amazing, sexy clarinet playing
The catchy beat
Because I told you to
I need a remix of Ray Charles' Shake a Tail Feather and The Contours' Do You Love Me
They're in different keys but they would work so well together musically. They both have the build toward the chorus and are about the same tempo and the voices would mesh well and it'd be perf trust me - science music.
Start with the Ray Charles "I heard about the fellow you've been dancin' with/ all over the neighbourhood/ so why didn't you ask me, baby?/ didn't you think I could?" and then the next verse maybe, then go to The Contours chorus and just--- you can't tell me this wouldn't be perfect!
It's 5AM and I'm only halfway through orchestrating this fucking piece.
Time for my secret weapon: cutting corners.
I'm not going to copy the end bar for bar - Time for some canons and bringing back material from other sections. Plus his ending would sound kind bleh for orchestra anyway, and there's probably at least 5 other people in my class doing this piece, so fuck it.
Apparently my computer doesn't like Finale. :U It's heating up like hell.
Apparently the orchestra I'm orchestrating this piece for only has one clarinet player.
*gives the trumpets and oboe a million rests because I do what I want*
Tomorrow I am going to get 80% of my Orchestration done, so that I can go to Tuba Christmas without feeling guilty.
Tuba Christmas is exactly what it sounds like. All the music kids cram into the Music Building lobby and the UWO tubas play Christmas carols that everyone sings to. And it's the best.
