“What’s the sea without a lagoon? The Ocean. The ocean isn’t my home. The island and its banks are”
Kung Hi Fat Choy ! Xin Nian Hao ! Happy new year of the pig !
Don’t you hate it when you come back from the beach, take your wet swimsuit off, but still wanna play around the house butt naked, and your mom keep shouting at you to go take a shower ? Ugh mom, can’t you see I’m buttnakedbusy ??

Série « La Tahitienne » - Jade Sketch for a bigger drawing to come Okay, so I clearly failed inktober 2018. I built up some delay, working on some other stuff, falling sick, giving into laziness.... I must say I put a lot of pressure on myself for this challenge, at some point it just wasn’t so fun anymore. Next time I’ll do better !
Inktober 9 and 10 : Precious and Flowing For this one I gathered two words together. Filiation is a precious and flowing bond between family. It’s not only about blood and family names. Cultural heritage is also passed down by filiation and family education. You may notice a lack of men in this drawing, I did wanted to highlight a mother/daughter bond, but men are obviously part of the picture here. They just don’t have enough hair.
Inktober 8 : Star They were voyagers. They followed currents, listened to the wind, understood birds and fishes and stared at the stars. Now we hate it when the wind messes up our hairdo, we choke on a 50 cm wave, freak out when we see a fish in the water... When did we stray this far away from nature ?
Inktober 7 : Exhausted
“I am fiu” means I’m tired, fed up, exhausted, bored, annoyed... Basically it means everything that could make you want to lay down and do nothing. Which is our favorite activity in Tahiti. Watch out if you go to Tahiti, “fiu” is a very contagious state of mind that will consume all of your motivation.
Inktober 6 : Drooling
Drooling --> Slug --> Sea cucumber
Don’t judge me please
Série “La Tahitienne” - Rautini
I’m sorry I’m super late for inktober, I got sick and had to work on other stuff, and things got a little out of hand, but anyway, I’m not giving up and working hard to catch up ! Stay tuned !
Inktober 4 : Spell
“Mana” could be translated to power or strength. In French Polynesia it’s a whole concept, some sort of energy that flows between nature, spirits, people and objects. One can cast some good or bad mana on things and people, in that case it could be some sort of spell or curse. Don’t be fooling around with this stuff, it’s no game. By the way, mana in video games does refer to Polynesian mana.
Inktober 2 : Tranquil (Ilienne 3)
Living on an island was boring until I moved out. Now that I’m living in a big city in a big country, island life tastes a little bit sweeter.
Inktober 1 : Poisonous (bitch) Yeay, I’m doing the Inktober challenge for the first time this year, let’s hope I’ll keep up until the end !
When I was a child, I liked to play with plants in the garden, that’s how I met the eleven-o’clock lady, also called star-of-Bethlehem. It’s a poisonous white flower, that I liked to pick up to play with. Unfortunately I also like to put my fingers in my mouth, therfore setting my mouth on fire. It took me several times to get it and stop playing with that thing. Anyway I wouldn’t wish anyone’s mouth to be full of eleven-o’clock ladies. Or maybe just poisonus bitches.
