So a friend and I were talking about the characterization of Pierrot and how, well, the general fandom seems to be looking at him.

I've had a feeling that a good chunk of people only have surface level knowledge of Pierrot, or even just get most of their "content" from fanon, rather than looking at the actual source material.

Pierrot himself during his nighttime rambles shows us, the reader, so much more. Yes, he shows MC his sweet side, smiling and showing affection. And when we make all the choices he agrees with, he plays nice.

But I stated it this way "He is playing nice because it is working. If it wasn't working, he wouldn't BE nice."

MC doesn't get to see Pierrot being scary because he's trying to do things the easy way. However, he makes it abundantly clear that he's not taking no for an answer, and that you belong to him, period.

So yes, Pierrot comes off as a cute innocent precious bean who could do no wrong, but if that's all you see, you've fallen for his little act.

He can be. And will be. Very scary. Even in front of MC. He's just usually been good at holding back. He does his best to hide his fangs, but sometimes he slips when things aren't going his way.

I feel like there's a sharp contrast between how Pierrot acts in the game (all the spicy stuff he said to MC in their sleep) and how he answers to the creator's AMA's. Is he double faced or does he act innocent and clueless on purpose and is actually no better than Harleyquin about his intentions ?

In the game he is pure/clueless 1000%

The fact that he gives you a bloody rose while actively bleeding, the fact that he kills that karen for you THINKING you'll like it? The fact that you can accidentally roofie yourself by eating the circus food and he's like: "oh....right.....we have that ...."---day2 MC asks him to explain and he's like ">_>"

He's a silly, just a dangerous silly.

But trust me, you can see his silliness in the game just as you can see how dangerous he is in the AMAs (he's been PLENTY threatening in the AMAs).

He just has two sides of himself, he's not using us or anything. For example: I have a version of myself when I'm with my family, as opposed to when I'm at work or with my friends. Same idea.

To MC, he tries to show the more positive aspects of his personality (just as we all do on a first date), while hiding the more negative/obsessive qualities at night while we sleep.

Those are good points, some people still haven’t noticed a few things about Pierrot haha! He may be a little naive about some things, but not in the way you all imagine. Still, he’ll always try not to scare you guys.

Actually, after realizing that, I even added a whole new scene to the update I’m currently working on just to show you all a glimpse of that happening. I think you’re going to like it owo
