I do think the post that's like "when they torture you to insanity and then torture you for being insane 😂🤣" is one of the most succinct and foundational analyses of interpersonal violence and conflict that had ever been written

In order to do good worldbuilding you need to be able to think politically and that requires understanding politics
How do the gnomes of the mushroom village govern themselves and how do they determine the legitimacy of the Giggleking who rules them? These are questions you must be able to answer.

Sagarmatha Minor lore, in text:
Sagarmatha minor was a static mountain deity Annexed in 1890768 from the Duksa- Jumma people from the southern copper forests.
As a static deity, they were included in land treaties between the colonizing forces of Don Perdita and the natives of Duksa Jumma, without the deity's concurrence. Several paper mills were built upon Sagartha's knolls and sparse native forests, leading to soil erosion and invasive species.
They say a forest only goes quiet when something is amiss. Sagartha's paper forests are perpetually silent.
Sagarmatha was in considerable pain, their uterus seasonally embedded with the embryo extracted from forest gods to create "instant woodland" suitable for lumber harvest (and other hardwoods for the paper mill). Their uterus is (at present) totally destroyed.
Often misconceptualized as a mother "goddess" due to the duke's misunderstanding of the duksa-jumma.
They are better understood as inherently sexless and of a gender outside of established colonizing religion.
Sagarmatha's name is from Mount Everest's indigenous, Nepali name (Sagarmatha). Their story is partly inspired from the Finnish-owned, millions of hectares of paper mills in the forests of Uruguay...... planting non-native Eucalyptus trees in perfect rows, showing up aerially in the shape of thumprints, where when you enter, no scurry of forest mice nor song of any bird can be heard..
There ia aso the treatment of Mount Everest by white mountaineers- where she is home to the "Goddess of Inexhaustible Giving" to the people who know her, to others, the mountain is just another conquest to those who don't particularly care about her cultural significance

sorry but this video is like a parasitic species to me
Website idea: Writers of all nationalities give each other advice on how to name OCs from their native culture/language.
For example, a native English speaker can tell you that "Henry Edward" is kinda weird and evokes Tudor kings, and a native Chinese speaker can tell you that, I don't know, "mīmī" sounds cute but means titties.
Re: Chinese names, there is something cool people should know about, (maybe you already know):
Using this database, you can access the names and biographical information of real people across Chinese historical periods and dynasties. You can go on here and find the names (not just given names but courtesy names and other sorts of honorary aliases, depending on the period) of thousands of real individuals, though it's almost entirely men in the older dynasties. Very few women.
Need a character name for your Tang Dynasty official? Check out the CBDB and find a *literal Tang Dynasty official* to grab a name from!
being a kid and hearing adults say stuff like "woah 2011 was 4 years ago haha" didn't really convey the fucking horror of a youtube video crossing my recommended labelled "9 years ago" and it's from 2017. that's not true. 9 years ago is 2010 or something. don't lie.
I tried to reblog this post and it failed which is maybe the funniest possible way to learn that I am blocked by sixpenceee’s defunct sideblog

Me (A time traveler visiting 20-year old Mozart): OK, so, this is called an electric guitar, basically instead of the body functioning as a resonance chamber, it produces music by harnessing the power of lightning. Do you have any other questions?
Mozart (Currently shredding Violin Concerto No. 1 on the guitar, having figured it out within 30 seconds): What other music can be made from harnessed lightning?
Me (Loading up some heavy dubstep): Oh, we're just getting started.
