I just want to apologize to all the fic writers out there whom’s writing I’ve liked, but haven’t reblogged. I absolutely love you guys and appreciate all the hard work you put in your creations. I’m just having a massive reader’s block, so I’ve been trying to save it as my read list. 😭

Power doesn’t corrupt, it reveals. Give someone the ability to be who they’ve always wanted, and you’ll discover who they’ve always wanted to be.

They loved her when she was weak…

Cheered her on when she fell into the mud. When her skin was torn and bleeding, her bones and tendons torn and broken. Her voice was silenced and she hung her head in despair.

Oh how they loved her then.

When each battle was hopeless, they called her a hero. When each failure came at a price, and the burden ever increasing, they told her she was strong. But she wasn’t. She was lost and broken. But it was named a noble sacrifice, and so she carried onwards.

She was trapped, weak and helpless. But still they called her name.

Until she found power.

Power to fight back. Power to win. Power to crush those who had abused their strength not so long ago. She was no longer weak, no longer trampled. Strong enough to stand on her own two feet. To make her own path.

And they hated her for it.

“Power corrupts” they screamed. She was called unnatural, evil and twisted. Those who had so recently cheered her on now called for her head. They wanted her brought down, broken into pieces once more.

She saw no change within herself. No new motives. No shifting of her values or moral quandaries. Just the ability to win where she had always failed. But suddenly victory was a sin. Her strength suspect. Her motives questioned.

Had she changed?

Or had they?

They loved her when she was weak.

They hated her when she was strong,

But still she moved forward, her head held high. Because she knew the truth: That power doesn’t corrupt.

It shows who you are.

It shows who they are as well.

Power doesn’t corrupt.

It reveals.

nuclei don't touch, but the nucleus is not the core of reality. reality is made of electrons dancing. reality is made of bonds.

you pet your dog and the atoms that are you brush up against the atoms that are him, and the electrons that are you press into the electrons that are him, and both of them change their movement.

electrons of course are not really particles and do not really move.

you pet your dog and the electron-orbitals of your skin overlap with the electron-orbitals of his fur, and both are changed by the contact. you are not made of little motes floating alone in a void. you are a single unfathomable chord formed of a trillion vibrations, and so is he. and the note you play is changing at every moment by what you touch and how you breathe, and so is his. and atoms do not really have edges, and to touch is to interact, and when you put your hand on your dog the universe does not know that you are separate. the song expands to hold you both.
