Reject the idea that there is such a thing as high art and low art!!! Read smut! Write horror! Watch low budget shorts! Listen to a local garage band!!!
What I mean when I say platonic Bingqiu would have Binghe as Shen Yuan’s pet:
Binghe requires a lot of affection to reassure him that he is loved, and he really doesn’t care to have an equal relationship with Shen Qingqiu. As Shizun’s pet, he would keep living in the side room, cooking/cleaning for Shizun, and being pet/hugged/kissed on his little head. Occasionally he gets to curl up with Shizun when he’s feeling sad. Shen Yuan will need to have taken the time to communicate with him that his love is not a limited resource that requires guarding, and when Shen Yuan has relationships with other people, it doesn’t mean he likes Binghe less. Binghe has to really understand that, and actively work on his jealousy/self loathing on his own time. A platonic relationship between them does require intensive character arcs for both of them, but I think it has great potential.
a beautiful relationship is constantly posting about something your mutual knows nothing about and them also constantly posting about something you know nothing about and you go lalalala together
I love every version of Hualian but Wulian specifically is so… agh!! It’s arguably the most critical era in their relationship in retrospect because even by the time they’ve kissed on multiple occasions and confessed to each other and so on, the thing that still makes Xie Lian hesitate and holds him back from fully accepting Hua Cheng’s love without any doubt or fear in his heart is his belief that Hua Cheng has not seen him at his lowest low and might not be able to love him if he had — so the revelation that actually, Hua Cheng was the one who stayed by his side and did keep loving him even at the point Xie Lian considered himself most undeserving of love is the final piece that needs to fall into place. And it does! When we meet him in the story, Xie Lian has already endured so much hardship and experienced so many transient relationships that one of his core beliefs about himself and the world is the idea that people will always leave him once they realize he’s not this untainted beacon of light that they want him to be, and the reveal of Wu Ming’s unconditional devotion refutes this belief instantaneously.
I didn’t have time to finish my fic for wulian week day 7 bc I was out of town all week, but! I don’t want to do nothing so I’ll post the actual fic when it’s done and in the meantime here’s what I’ve got so far
Wulian week day 7 (WIP) - one bed
Wu Ming would like to make it very clear that he didn’t mean for it to happen! He had only been trying to help. Xie Lian had just looked like he was shivering, so he had gone over to offer him as much warmth as he could with his presence—just sitting next to him!
Except, well, he hadn’t slept on a real bed in so long. So maybe he got a little too comfortable, and instead of leaving like he had intended, he ended up… falling asleep next to Dianxia.
He woke up staring at the most beautiful face in the world next to him, and he felt so warm and comfortable that his fantasies got in the way of his reality.
“Wanna get married?” he mumbled, still half asleep.
Xie Lian—who, as Wu Ming came to his senses he realized was not as comforted by his presence and had likely been gearing up to yell at him—flinched back. Immediately, Wu Ming tried to backpedal.
“Wait! I didn’t mean that!”
His hasty backtrack only increased the look of hurt on Xie Lian’s face, however, so he frantically did his best to damage control. “No! That’s not what I meant, I just—”
Mercifully—or perhaps not—Xie Lian cut him off before he could dig himself into an even deeper hole. “I suppose I was a fool for thinking there could be anyone who wouldn’t mock me.”
Wu Ming felt guilt and fear and shame pierce him to the core. “Dianxia, no! I would never!”
Xie Lian scoffed. “You really expect me to believe that?”
I could write wulian whump for hours! Don't know how I kept this so short lol
Technically Wu Ming as character is not here, but he is the focus point of the story. And San Lang's there so in a way so is Wu Ming.
Anyway, enjoy the angst >:)
@tgcf-wulian-week
It was around bedtime in Paradise Manor. Xie Lian was alone in bed, having gotten ready a while ago, but just lying awake. He was also waiting for San Lang to return from the Gambler’s Den, some ghost trying to make some trouble since Chengzu hadn’t been showing up for some time.
So Xie Lian lay down, waiting, except, waiting for San Lang was not the reason why he was awake right now.
Absentmindedly, he would hold the ring of ashes San Lang gave him, the only thing living closest to his heart, every minute or so. He would stare at it from time to time, and then go back to looking at the ceiling while playing with the ring around his fingers.
He felt numb. All his feelings were watered down. Like he was somewhere far away from his body with no path for coming back. He doesn’t know how long he had been waiting in bed. Didn’t feel like taking a bath that night, so he only got undressed, put on a light sleeping robe, and got under the covers, curling up on himself, like how he used to when he slept on the streets.
It had been one of those hard days he experienced from time to time. The feelings were so overwhelming earlier in the day that left him completely exhausted by nighttime. They were tolerable now that he had San Lang, but right now, San Lang was not there to calm his raising thoughts.
Thoughts of Wu Ming.
The real reason why he was in this state was because of his soldier ghost. The one who sacrificed himself in order to save him from a decision that he would have regretted for the rest of his life. Wu Ming had saved him from an enormous amount of pain by letting his own soul be torn apart.
Right after Wu Ming disappeared, guilt and regret was all Xie Lian could feel. It took a long time for him to accept the consequences of his own actions. After learning San Lang was the Wu Ming he had lost so long ago brought back a lot of those original feelings. It had been difficult at first, and it took a lot of effort to work through it. He felt guilty that it had fallen on San Lang to help him with the distress; the last thing San Lang had to do was give more to Xie Lian.
Obviously, he apologized as best he could, and even though the Ghost King didn’t seem to harbor any bit of resentment towards him, Xie Lian could not yet comprehend how he was forgiven so easily. It ate every bit of his consciousness. No matter how many times San Lang reassured him, there was always a nagging feeling he couldn’t get rid of that dragged him back to that moment when he lost his last believer.
In the middle of his turmoil, Xie Lian received a message from San Lang on his communication array.
“Gege, this one apologizes desperately, but it would be a bit more time before I can join you tonight”
Xie Lian took a deep breath, it was alright, he was alright.
“Everything okay, Gege?” came the smooth and deep voice again.
“Yes, San Lang, everything is okay. I’m already in bed, so take your time” He tried to sound as calm as possible, project sincerity even though he knew he was lying. Would San Lang be able to tell?
“Alright, Gege, I’ll be back as soon as possible” and the array closed.
That only meant more time for him to wallow on his triggering thoughts, before he can be verbally reassured that everything was fine. He could ask over the array, but it wouldn’t be the same. Xie Lian needed to feel San Lang next to him, he needed the pressure his hugs offered, the evidence that he was here and was not going to leave him again.

Series: Part 2 of Government Official’s Blessing
Summary:
Xie Lian has had a rough decade, and now, having been given access to his high school reunion group chat he sees them share a meme, one poking fun at something he hand carved and was attempting to sell on his Etsy. Little does he know, this meme will (via the Shi Qingxuan to He Xuan pipeline) make its way to Hua Cheng, who recognizes the artist immediately not from the craftsmanship (or lack thereof) but the black-handled pocket knife beside it in the picture. One such knife that had once led to his hospitalization and the last time he had seen Xie Lian.
Could this be the start of a romance between Xie Lian and freelance artist San Lang? Or will Hua Cheng’s various hidden identities and Xie Lian’s past come back to haunt them?
College au where for reasons, Chu Wanning and Shen Qinqiu have to impart classes to each others' class
It was a subject in particular, very especific, they were Friends and decided this was the best course of action, it won't take more than a month
Except that they can't deal with 3 of the other's students in particular
This is all caused by the shared misunderstanding between both groups that their teachers are dating because they wouldn't trust anyone else that much (Except, that they have done this before, just that not to an "outsider")
Mo Ran and Shi Mei seem to have a silent agreement that their teacher can't date this one guy, and Xue Meng believes his Shizun deserves better
Yingying has been supporting Luo Binghe's quest for their teacher's heart for too long to let him fail like this, Binghe is full on plotting posible murderer and Ming Fan has been to Chu Wanning's office, such a mess of a man is not deserving of their Shizun
Worst part?
Neither Sqq not Cwn will believe each other about it
"Binghe being dificult? Class rep and model student Binghe?"
"Mo Ran... Well, yes, he's himself, but Xue Meng? He could never do such a thing"
Then, the shizunfuckers Mo Ran and Binghe go both to visit their teacher for particular reasons (bs they came up with because they missed them), learn about the problem they're having and switch to try and destroy each others' group because no one is allowed to bully their Shizun
Mo Ran learns that trying to roast Binghe is usless because the guy somehow makes that be witnessed by both teachers and is a master of crocodile tears, Shizun please don't be mad, he didn't start this!
Binghe barely comes out alive of all the rumours that surround him nowadays, since when was he heterosexual?! Much less have 300 girlfriends! Shizun please don't look at him like that or he will cry for real!
Kept it light and funny this time lol and kinda short too :P
Xie Lian opened his eyes and found himself lying on the ground outside the temple. That was weird because he clearly remembered he fell asleep inside the temple Wu Ming found for them last night.
He got up while looking around for anything suspicious, then he noticed something even stranger, was he taller? He felt taller. His eye level was different than normal.
He took off the mask he was still wearing and with a loud gasp he realized it was Wu Ming’s smiling mask. He did a one eighty turn and headed straight into the temple to find out the inexplicable.
There, where he remembered he lay down last night was his body, sitting in the ground looking at his palms with eyes of terrified disbelief.
Then his body looked up and his eyes widened. “Dianxia?” Wu Ming asked in Xie Lian’s voice.
“Don’t call me that” Xie Lian chided in what was clearly Wu Ming’s voice.
A body swap then, who could have done this? Bai WuXian, who else? But to what end? Maniac.
Before he could voice his displeasure Ruoye peeked out from under Xie Lian’s sleeve, still wrapped in his original body.
The band did a movement Xie Lian could not comprehend but immediately unwrapped itself and flew towards Wu Ming’s body. It circled it a couple times, like a filial dog trying to recognize his owner. However, it didn’t wrap itself around him like he had expected, it was sort of looking at him? Then he would turn to Wu Ming in Xie Lian’s body, then back again, repeating the movement several times. It seemed like Ruoye was confused as to who his owner really was.
Irritated Xie Lian called out his name, the silk band turned to him, it looked like it understood, good. Although, unexpectedly, Wu Ming repeated the name. Both Xie Lian and Ruoye stared at him for several seconds before Ruoye reacted like an enthusiastic puppy who had just been offered treats.
Ruoye immediately flew towards Xie Lian’s body, gave him a “sniff” and rubbed against his cheeks before tuck itself back under Xie Lian’s robes like he had found home.
The traitor, though Xie Lian, of course it had to be more attached to his body than his soul. Xie Lian doubted ghosts could blush but if they could he would be red from the fury he was feeling right now. He did another one eighty and left the temple. Wu Ming was confused but undoubtedly followed him behind regardless.
I never did get around to writing much for wulian week, but I couldn't not post anything for the body swap day, so here's a quick drabble:
—-—-—
It was strange looking at himself from outside of himself. It was even stranger not being angry with what he saw. Because even if it was his stupid face and his ugly eye and his useless body that he was looking at, His Highness was in there and Wu Ming could never hate the body that housed His Highness.
Meanwhile His Highness was appreciating the body Wu Ming so despised, wielding the spiritual energy that his own body lacked. He looked at Wu Ming, at his original body, and wrinkled his nose. Did he hate the sight of himself too?
