For those who don’t know, Richard Feynman was a Nobel prize-winning theoretical physicist. This letter was written to his high school sweetheart and first wife, whom he married in 1941. She had (then incurable) tuberculosis. Even at their wedding, he could only kiss her on the cheek because of her illness. They drove from the ceremony to the hospital, and he visited her on weekends.

She died in 1945. He wrote this letter to her the year after, and it was opened only after his death.
