There’s a different kind of tragedy in the fact that Kevin Day was loved and wanted by both his parents and still ended up with a terrible life. Most of the other characters in the series were doomed from the start, their parents awful or neglectful or somewhere in between. Kevin could’ve had it all but still ended up perfect Fox material.

Thinking about Nora "surgically removing" kandreil from canon and the surgery must have gone wrong because all Kevin's sexuality seems to be also removed. The canon Kevin reads so asexual unlike other characters. Even more so than Neil (that's probably because we know inside of his head but that boy stares so much). She had to kill everything sexual/romantic about Kevin and kandreil still haunts the narrative it's insane

I tried to explain why I like kevin day to someone today.

something something kevin has been playing sports since he could walk but has been in intense training since he was nine. he has been living off 4 hours a night of sleep for over ten years and almost every waking moment working out, training or playing a heavily brutal sport. at one point he was playing for four teams at once, extra training at edgar allan, little to no sleep, while maintaining perfect academics. (all while on a restricted diet. and physical abuse. and he is now self medicating with alcohol because of his trauma. not the point.) how much chronic pain does he have? what toll has been put on his body? what has this done to his brain health as well? does he wake up sometimes and feel like he can barely move without absolute agony? does he ignore it? does it ever occur to him to stop night practices because his body is reaching a limit of too little sleep?
