really curious about the stitchings on alastor this season. maybe someone has already talked about this and i'm being repetitive and obvious, but hear me out.
i know we have seen the stiches on his face, i'm not really going to touch on those, but the ones on his body look interesting.
first, here's a shot of his cane during the season 2 finale, after it was broken at the end of season 1.
there is green stitching on it! green stitching like the ones he has on his face, his body and, most importantly, the same green stitching he used to somewhat mend the wound on his chest from adam, which we see is still very much open in episode 4.
so alastor has used his own (depleted) powers to mend both his cane and his chest wound. okay.
now let's take a look at this:
the one that stands out at first is the stitching across his chest, which we recognize as the wound caused by adam and that appears to be completely healed now? the stitches are closed.
but then, we have green stitching on both his arms, both his legs, one little "x" on his right upper thigh that looks small on the first screenshot but later appears to be a criss-cross (which indicates one of his legs got cut off twice? maybe?), and a big criss-cross on his abdomen and back as if he got ripped apart/cut in half.
at first i thought those were reference to how he died in his human life. maybe the hunter saw that he shot a human man in the woods and not a deer and decided to get rid of the body, and either got the dog to rip it apart or dismembered it himself.
the "X" on alastor's forehead, the mark of the shot that killed him, the one he carried over to his afterlife, is red. and it stands out, contrasting with the green, being the only marking this color in his body that we see in his demon form.
so i think we can assume that this red "X" sign on his forehead, where he got shot, is the only scar in his body that comes from his life - the rest of the scars are a result of serious damage he took during his time in hell, and he used his own magic to kinda heal or put his body back together. the wound adam gave him might have healed and closed, but we can see the remnants of that in the green stitching that stays.
and listen, i know we see stitching details on his little shadow critters, but i reiterate that the stitches that we see here look... intentional. purposeful. a small detail we should pay attention to. i don't believe those stitches across his body, specially after seeing that adam's slash did leave a scar exactly like the other ones on the rest of his body, are purely there for aesthetic purposes.
now the question is... who the fuck managed to rip his body in half??? and cut off both his arms and both his legs? were all those wounds from the same fight or accumulated damage over his years in hell?
maybe it was that one fight with the vees were vox nearly got taken out? was it from the tantrum vox threw after alastor rejected him? was it from his seven-year absence? how about the stitching on his face, then? were they self-inflicted? a result of his deal?
i don't really know. hopefully we get to learn more about it since i'm pretty sure he'll be the main antagonist for season 3. something something all details in animation are always intentional.
