The first sentence says 32 and 13 implying that the speaker is 32 years old and their girlfriend is 13 years old, which is both highly inappropriate and illegal. The next sentence reveals the speaker was talking about their game levels, not their ages, which is perfectly okay.
In their reply to the audience they then say they are picking her up from middle school, again implying that their girlfriend is underage, but quickly state she’s grading papers letting us know she’s a teacher, definitely an adult, and there no reason to be upset.
The rollercoaster gif portrays how switching from upset and worried to relieved in such a short period of time feels emotionally.
The next meme shows the guy panicking from misunderstanding, then feeling relieved and calm realizing the truth, only to panic over the next misunderstanding and then calm again when hearing the end.

These posts were from 2012-2013. Look at those note counts. I’m sure that actually trying to go through the notes would reveal deranged reblogs, but there’s no way any post praising a Democratic politician would get a lot of notes on here now, let alone that many. Yeah, yeah, you can argue these simplistic posts weren’t great either because politicians shouldn’t be stanned, etc, etc., but I’m pointing out how you used to be able to express positivity towards a Democratic president on here, and that this was a popular sentiment. Now, you can’t even tell people to vote for Democrats against a raping white supremacist without bloggers screaming bloody murder and accusing you of genocide. Forget about praising a Democrat as a person, as the above posts do: you can’t express preference for general Democratic policies over Republican ones without being called a bootlicker. You can’t point to objectively true things about Democratic policies—such as blue states having abortion rights and trans rights and red states not—without people losing their shit and lying about the parties being the same
I’m a broken record yet again but these posts were pre-2016, and the impact of 2016’s combination of online ratfucking campaigns, Bernard Sanders turning a whole generation away from Democrats due to his and his ilk’s “both sides, all corrupt, no war but class war” bullshit, and the birth of fucking cringe culture cannot be overstated. You used to be able to talk about how bad Republicans were on here without adding caveats that Dems totes suck shit too and omg plz still think I’m cool, guys!1! You used to be able to say you supported a Democratic politician without people having a Fox News style meltdown on you. I remember the 2012 election and people on here were able to say “omg Romney would be terrible, vote for Obama!” without much pushback. Compare that to what liberals faced when pleading with people to vote for Democrats against Trump.

People will say “nobody treats transmasculine people like predators” and in the same breath say every transmasc or trans man who attempts to differentiate their manhood/masculinity from cis manhood/masculinity is just doing so to evade taking accountability for harm caused and to get away with hurting people (women, in particular).

Authors have kids. Authors die. Sometimes they die when they have kids. Now that kid has no parent AND a source of income for the family is gone. Royalties aren't much, but they can help bridge that gap until the kid is old enough to have a shot at a decent job.

On one hand, yes. On the other hand, I can understand wanting to protect a spouse or parent's legacy. I think it's a little complicated at that point.
Also, appealing to Tumblr’s worst nature, imagine how many Disney movies Disney will make about your favourite books immediately subsuming the memory of the original and cementing the Disneyified story as the “real” version if it’s only the life of the author. They’ll start premiering them either at the author’s funeral or on the first anniversary. And Disney is a corporation that will never die. Consider.
Also I can't help but imagine that if there is a "copyright lasts until the death of the author" we'll start seeing a lot of unexplained deaths of bestselling novelists and convenient movie adaptations/quick special edition printings

In line for the SF/Boston game tonight they were handing out little paper "baseball cards" to kids. A 13yo girl went up and asked nicely for one, and the lady said to her "Oh no sweetie, they're only for the itty bitty ones." Girl walked away dejected. Then this 10yo boy a few feet away goes "Oh my gosh! Can I have one?" Lady said "Sure!" And gave him one. He grinned and handed it right over to the teen girl. And that's real alyship.
