The story starts beautifully and it only gets better. It’s a truly beautiful fairytale with modern sensibilities and classic magic of old Slavic tales. Agnieszka is such an exciting protagonist that let’s just hope she becomes a character in a long series and not just this one, very special book.

THERE IS A PILE OF CLOTHING ON THE SIDE OF THE TRAIN TRACKS. LIGHT-BLUE CLOTH--A SHIRT, PERHAPS--JUMBLED UP WITH SOMETHING DIRTY WHITE. IT COULD HAVE BEEN LEFT BEHIND BY THE ENGINEERS WHO WORK THIS PART OF THE TRACK, THEY'RE HERE OFTEN ENOUGH. OR IT COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE.... .
