Hey yeah, I’m making a callout post for that Baron Praxis guy? he’s done some pretty terrible stuff and I see people still stanning him which is :/ And I realise some of the stuff he’s done in the past isn’t as well known today after all the walking back he did so I thought I’d make this to inform people. 

I know some people may not wanna hear this but I think it’s important considering how much influence he has with younger people. Plus, he’s walked back and apologise for a lot of the shit he did but he hasn’t actually changed, it’s just lip service. I’ll put it all under the cut but cw for illegal human experimentation, heading a dictatorship, creating an aggressive military, and double dealing with Metal Head scum. There’s more but we’ll discuss the minutiae under the cut.

The scarred woman looked to the being, "You seem to be having a good day."

“Peachy,” Kor snarled at her, tail lashing back and forth. He tried to struggle to his feet but his legs were betraying him, shaking and just sliding and digging up the ground. There was a deep gash in his side that had mostly clotted along with a few other wounds. The puny woman wasn’t scared of him, which meant he looked like shit. He felt like it too, but if he started moping he’d likely be killed off. That’s just how things worked.

He growled at her threateningly, teeth bared.

“Oh calm down. If I was gonna kill ya, I would’ve already done so,” Harley sighed, looking over the injured creature, “Need some help there, bumpy?”

His tail flicked back and forth and he stopped baring his teeth at her as she looked over him. He still growled at her though, he had principles. Subterfuge likely wouldn’t serve her very well since he was this injured, and even if she did try something like poison it likely wouldn’t affect him at this size. 

He stopped growling and pulled back, affronted at the nickname. “Bumpy?” His tail lashed. “If I am to be called anything it will be my name.” His tail lashed back and forth for a few seconds, his facial fins pulled a little closer to his face. “I am Kor.” He resisted the urge to look back and reassure himself that the nickname was ill-fitting. “To whom am I addressing?”

He should’ve known better than to accept the Precursor’s offer. It was a proposal too rich in all that it promised to believe that there weren’t substantial risks involved. He knew he should’ve stayed at home and yet here the blond was, stranded on a dirtball contending with a familiar enemy far from his friends and allies, a pair of Metal Head grunts snapping at his heels. 

Jak had learnt fast that the beasts that brought Haven ruin weren’t the only terrors to find a home on this planet, but he hadn’t occasion to concern himself with the threat they posed for now. Priorities dictated he get rid of the grunts on his tail first before taking any other action. And with the ammo in his Morph Gun running low, all he could do was try to outrun the beasts, resorting to fisticuffs only when absolutely necessary.

How very easy it would be to kill him, but not just yet. Anything familiar in this desert was a boon, especially something that could advice him on the state of nearby settlements. Seems like metalheads weren’t the most popular creatures here either, but unlike Haven each of the blasted people had some sort of bizarre gun. Until things got better the most they could do was lure stragglers into their cave of a vault then kill them. Most had been psychos, but the rarer vault hunters had given him some very interesting toys. 

Kor held one of them now and was nestled in the shadows above the entrance of the cave. Admittedly transferring his mind to the few metalheads settled here wasn’t the plan, he had meant to come here in one piece, but whatever machinery he had connected to gave him a new body just like his old one... albeit much shorter. Much shorter. Jak would be barely a head shorter than him now. Misfortune aside, it did mean he could hide and make much thinner webbing, so it all worked out. Especially if Jak noted the cave and it’s very convenient spot as a choke-point so the grunts would have to go in one at a time. The grunts would be chasing him nearer to it anyway, but some of the people here had taken forever to think of it. Almost worse than Havenites really...

“That’s not a threat, its a promise.”

Kor did his best to hide his fury. It wouldn’t do well to gain the boy’s ire right now. Not while the shield walls were up and he was weakened by them. It was apparent that he’d have to kill Jak at some point. He had hoped that the boy would be more receptive to him, but he had been too late. His claws weren’t embedded deep enough, but that thing’s were.

“Rather attached to your friend aren’t you.” Kor tried to stop judgement from seeping into his voice but it was still readily apparent none the less.

"I swear, I won't hesitate to punch you."

Kor growled at the orange menace. How Daxter had managed to actually call the device hidden in the metalhead nest he didn’t know, but he would find out. The brat was always chatty enough, given enough prompting. Daxter knew that there was one of course, he and Jak had found that out from the baron, but finding out how to call him, and threatening him no less?! Such impedance.

“Watch your mouth! I have the power to crush your puny city!“

“Don’t try and act friendly with me.”

Kor tried to supress his scowl. Oh, so this was how it was going to be was it? Fine by him, he hated having to step cautiously around these stupid creatures. They never were smart enough to know when to start endearing themselves to their betters.

“Acknowledged,” he said and purposefully turned his back on her, leaning over the map to analyse it. There were relatively few benefits to this map, at least for his purposes. When Ashelin would sneak in the newest KG maps, with all the projected security flaws, that would be worth looking at.

“Have you met my father? I’m pretty sure he was planning to have me killed or imprisoned at one point.“ Not that she wouldn’t grieve on some level later on, in private, when no one else was around. Alone.

“And who’s to say I won’t kill you right now like I just killed him?” He had in fact met the Baron, this news didn’t suprise him. “Honestly, humans these days just don’t care about each other. Back in my day you’d all scream and cry and hide behind your so called gods and band together to build a city. Nowadays they just kill their firstborn and everyone else they know for a corn chip. Rediculous, why do I even bother.”
