Kindle: How to Convert TXT and EPUB

For many Kindle users, no matter you use KPW or KV or KO, we know that if you directly copy files to a Kindle, it only accepts AZW3 and Mobi. Kindle also is bad for PDF, especially the one with images. But how about the other two famous format, TXT and EPUB?

For TXT is easy, you just need to make sure the TXT file is coded in UTF-8 (you can change it by save as another txt and re-choose encoding), and then you can send it via email to you Kindle mail address (subject must be “convert”), then waiting for Amazon to convert it for you.

For EPUB, though some people said you can rename EPUB as ZIP and them mail it to Kindle, I tried, it won’t work. But I found another way. You don’t need to convert it using any online or offline converter. There’s a simple easy trick for you: Just rename the EPUB file as HTM, and then send it to your Kindle mail address (subject must be “convert”). All settings in the EPUB will remain perfect in Kindle, including fonts and margins. Then you can enjoy reading your EPUB on Kindle.

Just make sure the TXT or the EPUB you want won’t be larger than 50MB, or you will need to convert it to mobi.

Little iPhone Tip: Easily Taking Screenshot in iOS 11

For most iPhone users, I guess you know there’s a thing called AssistiveTouch, aka the virtual home button, right?

Then do you know in iOS 11 there’s a much more convenient way to take screenshot than pressing home button and sleep/wake button together?

Open iPhone Settings, go to General>Accessibility>AssistiveTouch, in iOS 11 you can edit the custom actions of Assistive Touch now. For convenience, you can change the “Double-Tap” or “Long Press” into “Screenshot”. From then on you can easily take screenshot with only 1 or 2 click! (I set Long Press as screenshot, and Double-Tap as Multitasking.)

Requirement: iPhone with iOS 11, and your habit of using AssistiveTouch.
