I have two wolves inside me:

Erik was afraid of charles's telepathy and wouldn't let him use it, highlighting the deep hypocrisy in "mutant and proud" (but not if it scares me). this one is excellent angst!

Erik was the ONLY one who let charles into his head and was chill with it. after all, let him be who he is, right? this one is LOVELY because it makes erik putting on the helmet that much more painful and heartbreaking for charles. the one person who accepts your mutation entirely shuts you out. and also you were in love with him :(

Im an angry crier charles truther, almost every argument he has absolutely has tears in his eyes if not running down his face, this is my truth

He will debate just fine, but doesnt matter who he's fighting with, once they hit the level of frustration where they are raising their voices the tears start coming. He gets accused of trying to manipulate ppl by crying. As an older man hes a bit better abt regulating it bcz he works so hard to deescalate arguments and talk so calmly at least partially for that reason.
