Making stuff, when shit sucks worst, can change your perspective. This video is a piece of my senior project at Cornish College of the Arts.
Although the video wasn’t the main piece of my BFA project, it encapsulated the feeling more than anything else I made.
The idea behind it was to write all the negative thoughts that stop you from creating in black until the canvas was completely covered. Only then do I start writing the message “making stuff, when shit sucks worst, can change your perspective” in white. I wanted to show the process of breaking through creative blocks and negativity to create something meaningful.
I’m trying to brainstorm possible video projects for the summer since this one was so fun to make.
WOODFORD!!!
not included (so many things, i may have to do a second part installment): -INCREDIBLE puppets and their strange performances -giant painted sculptures on fire -being recocgnized by one of the drummers in keyim ba for starting a dance party in port macquarie the last time i saw them, subsequently dancing to their beats all night long on NYE -bandicoot running in front of me on the way to a show -dancing nudey booty in the showers at 3 am -the two ladies who became my face painting reps at a bar and probably talked the entire bar line into getting their faces painted (you are so lovely!!) so much more ahhhh. thanks everyone for an incredible weekend!
Amazing travel comic from my friend Natalie! check out her awesome adventures!
what i'm working on tonight
Just entered a phone case competition for a local Seattle company. I think forcing myself to enter contests is a good way to keep my momentum going. Especially in the winter when I could just sleep all day and drink pots of coffee while watching netflix.
what i'm working on tonight
My album cover project that i'm so so so so so behind on.
-what i'm working on today-
Rethinking some personal stationary. The little logo pattern is starting to win over my heart.
-what i'm working on today-
working on this 2D or not 2D animation film festival poster for school. Its going to be a screen printed poster, and right now i'm still working on the overall composition. I'm tweaking the placement right now so all my characters will be interacting with type.
-what i'm working on today-
Trying to keep chugging along on these hand done type album covers. Digging the basic layout of this so far but I want to push it further. Trying to plot my next move.
-what i'm working on-
Starting to dig the Madness cover i'm re designing.
Doodle ----> vector (with clipping mask used) ----> destructive scanning
-what i'm working on-
Smiths album cover re-design, one step closer!
-what i'm working on-
Hypothetical animation film festival poster for "2D OR NOT 2D"
The idea for the poster is that the way animated films are made is the same as regular films, only you hire cartoons.
I'm real far behind in this project (and much more needs to be added) but I think it will look just right as a screen print.
dont PANIC guys, it's almost halloween.
Super exciting thursday.
-what i'm working on-
First assignment from my zine distro internship is to come up with a template they can use for the one sheets that accompany books. My goal is to create a sheet that is simple and clear to read but also has the same fun vibe the rest of their site has. They use a fun craft pattern in the background of one of their websites and I was thinking of using the same pattern at a very low opacity behind the one sheet to give it texture. The end goal is to create a whole stationary system for Mend My Dress Press so no matter what they are sending out, it is consistent with all their packaging and stationary.
Feedback welcome as always!
-what i'm working on-
I've been working on FAR more logos than anticipated this year. I've been enjoying creating them more and more. This set is all for my coworker who recently become a pastor at her church. One of her first tasks is to revamp the church coffee shop, Fill My Cup. It is where the church does a lot of fundraising, events and is a safe space that anyone is welcome to come and enjoy.
Can't wait to see which one they like the best so I can start creating the final version.
Top 10 Seattle Bands You Don't Know About: This goal of this editorial design was to create a magazine layout that looked and felt like the music it was representing. The bands featured are local Seattle bands that have a faster, edgy feel. The layout features icons of the music scene such as the guitar pedal in the top left and the cable that frames the layout. All photography used with permission from either band or photographer.

Santa Cruz Skateboard Packaging
For the Starwars decks they made the packaging look like action figure boxes. Such a great idea.
