Reupholstered an old and sketchy office chair with new fabric. :)

Had fun with creating new mixed media paintings last night. Really enjoyed the effects that came out of these.

Process was acrylic paint in plastic sleeves, photographed, and then brought into Lightroom and Photoshop.

Found a wooden giraffe at a Goodwill a few years ago and wanted to sand and repaint it. Finally had the time this past weekend to finish it up! :)

Made a Sword Kirby as a Christmas gift! Used polymer clay, acrylic paint, and a gold spray painted mason jar lid as the base.

When life gives me limes, I make lime sorbet!

It’s that time of year. Made a nice big pot of chicken noodle soup.

Here's my recipe:

-2 large carrots, chopped into half moon pieces

-2 cups of chopped celery

-1 large onion sliced

-1 to 2 cups of frozen peas

-1 small can of corn (drained)

-2 cups of chopped chicken

-Half a bag of rotini pasta

-3 tbs of chicken powder (you can definitely use ready made chicken stock/bouillon cubes)

-3 cloves of smashed garlic

-4 thin slices of ginger 

-Sprig of fresh rosemary & oregano

-Creole seasoning (if desired!)

-Salt & pepper

Chop chicken into bite sized pieces, season lightly with salt and pepper and put aside. Bring a pot of water to boil and mix in chicken powder, smashed garlic, rosemary & oregano, and ginger slices. Put in the carrots, celery, onions and boil on medium for about 5 minutes. Put in chicken pieces--be sure to separate pieces when you put them in or they’ll stick together while cooking! After cooking for a few minutes (when chicken is just about cooked through), put in drained corn and peas. Turn heat down to low.

Let all the flavour cook while you bring another pot of water to boil. In this second pot, salt the water and cook the rotini pasta. Drain pasta, and then put into the first pot of soup. (Pasta cooked in the soup pot will cause all the flavour to be sucked up and pasta expands, making everything out of balance). 

Ladle out the ginger pieces, rosemary, and oregano sprig. I added about 2 tsps of creole spice at this point, just for a little more body to the soup. Season as desired--I always put in a little bit of salt, stir, and then add more as I go. Nothing worse than cooking a nice soup and then messing up the seasoning at the end!

First attempt at Gordon Ramsay's beef wellington recipe. Beef fillet with a layer of diced mushrooms and puff pastry. Delicious!
