Bridge Base Online is introducing paid premium membership plans and restricting some features for free accounts... but also giving current users a year's free premium membership? which does actually include some features you didn't get for free before.
so they're only going to start making a profit on this in a year's time, which feels... really odd for what would otherwise be a desperate cash grab.

OK. The plot thickens. Some combination of "10 year old account", "3000+ logins" and "has paid them money before" got me into some higher category, and most users aren't getting that.
Which feels... a bit weird? Am I not the demographic most likely to pay for premium membership when the trial period runs out?
