Finally!
After years of trying I finally got a peony to bloom! Not sure if these are difficult flowers or just difficult for me.
It’s funny, the more effort you put into something the more you enjoy the rewards.

It’s funny! All the curse words that you haven’t used in years coming flooding back to you when you are assembling children’s toys.
Morning coffee…
I make coffee by different methods . I have a percolator, auto drip, pour over, press, and keurig. Basically I choose by which equipment I have cleaned. Lately, Mrsmick has been making coffee and I questioned her cleaning methods.
Me, holding percolator, did you wash this?
Her, no! Why do you wash this stuff everyday? My parents, my grandparents, they never washed their coffee makers! Just rinse it out and reuse it. It makes the coffee taste better.
Me, are you crazy?! I scrub this equipment after each use!
Her, sounds like you have a problem!!
I think I am married to a grizzled old trucker!!
Do you scrub your coffee maker or just rinse and go?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
So much for dry January!
I made it 22 days. Not too bad.
Birthday party 3 of 5 this week! 2 more to go…
Birthday month!
From last night over the next 10 days we will celebrate 5 birthdays for my family! Last night the 19yo turned 20.! Hard to believe.
That’s a lot of celebrating. That’s a lot of cake! So much cake.
In half of a day
I already blew it with my New Year’s resolution to eat less candy!
However, as you can see, the Dove candy company have given me a reprieve!
I think I will keep this wrapper with me at all times to apply to all of my future failures!
This is the last time
that I’m going to the grocery store today! Because if I have to go again I’m gonna burn the place down!
At least that was the thought in my head and didn’t say out loud.
She wanted me to buy chicken from the deli for the ONE person in the family that does not eat ham. That chicken for the ONE cost as much as the ham for the other 15 people!
It’s okay
It’s okay
Just hide the matches!
LaGuardia
Flying home from NY on Sunday and I stressed and dreaded the airports on the weekend before Christmas. I was shocked at how orderly and fast LaGuardia airport was. Yes, there were lots of people but the lines moved quickly and efficiently. And the TSA checkpoint, So quick so smooth, AND they were so nice!
So before you see all the news stories about how horrible airports are at holidays… know that I had a great experience.
I actually went to 3 airports yesterday and all were great travel experiences.
In NYC
Spending s few days in NYC with family. So what am I doing on night 1?
At 730pm I’m getting ready for bed and watching Hallmark movies!
730!!
What is wrong with me?!
I promise I will be more exciting tomorrow!
2 Christmas wishes…
#1
Dear Santa,
For the 100’s of busty single women that send me friend requests because they are looking for “serious relationships”….
First of all, give them some more clothes! Clothes that fit!
Secondly, a higher set of standards!
#2
Dear Santa,
For the dozens of women who send me messages saying “Hello Handsome”…
Can you send them a new pair of glasses and the ability to make better life choices!
Not just any cup of coffee…
It’s a $2800 cup of coffee!!
Well that’s what the cost was on my old truck for repairs. Whenever I go to the dealership for repairs I know it’s gonna be expensive so I drink as much of their free coffee as I can.
The repairs today were expensive but I expected it so I was prepared. When you drive a truck that is 12 years old you have to make repairs. I keep telling myself that it is better than a new car payment.
I did find a coupon for $100 off so that was helpful!
And so it begins…
The first of many presents is wrapped. I can wrap all day, I love it! But I do not do the bows and ribbon, she does all of that.
So if you need your gifts wrapped, I’m your man!
Since Wednesday
all 8 of my grandkids have spent the night with us!
Wednesday- 1
Thursday- 3
Friday - 3
Saturday- 1
And that one last night! He is the most difficult. He is a 6 year old bobcat with a 5 second attention span!
I’m really glad that I can help out my kids but we are tired! Not sure when the 6 yo is leaving today but when he gets picked up we will get a well deserved nap!
My usual Thanksgiving beverage!
Other family members will bring fancy cocktails but for me I prefer a pour of this over ice.
I think I’ll start tonight!
Doctor appt this morning!
Ugh! I stress this so much.
Any ideas on how to lose 20 pounds in like, 2 hours?
Call me Mr. Christmas!
I saw something similar to this at a beach shop in Florida. I thought it looked like a great way to use some of the 10000 seashells I have laying around the house. So I got the glue gun out and a few craft supplies and ended up with this seashell Christmas tree!
It was amazing to me how MrsMick knew the origins of these sea shells!
“Oh, these seashells were from Florida from 3 years ago!”
“ Oh, these seashells were from South Carolina 5 years ago!”
“Oh, you remember these, they were from Florida this past summer!”
You’re messing with me, right?!
Anyway, my seashell Christmas tree, my contribution to this year’s decorations!
(I told her that I was inspired by the skull tower from “28 Years Later”! She didn’t know what I was talking about but still was not amused!)
